Live music for Saturday Lunch!!. Last Saturday my husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we dined on the patio for Saturday lunch... LIVE MUSIC! Very chill and very good... perfect Atlanta spring weather. I had a shrimp caesar salad (yum!) and he ordered a burger... all good stuff. We couldn't resist to order a beer... it's just what you do when you're being entertained!! I can't sip on water while listening to the tunes!! Can't wait to check it out today! **PS I just read the reviews... what's up with the haters?!?!? I don't believe you've actually eatten here... it's nothing as you've described!!!

Tavern at Phipps. Going to this resturant was like going back in time. The staff was very unfriendly. They really didn't care to have people of Color in their resturant. I couldn't believe this was happening in a prodomiently Black city like Atlanta. The city officials should see to this resturant being close down. It's very bad that this is still happening in this day and time. I will make sure I contact the city officials.

Overrated Establishment run by Bigots. The service here was mediocre as was the food. The faire is basically dressed up overpriced diner food and you should not have to struggle to get your waitress's attention.

Fun place.. I've been to the Tavern many times, and have always received very good food and service. Great nachos and burgers. The dining room is a nice place for a meal, while the bar and patio are great for cocktails. The bartenders are fun, friendly and entertaining. Some have expressed disapproval of the cocktail waitresses' attire, but I have always found them to be friendly, attentive and professional. The bar does get crowded and boisterous, but I find that part of its appeal. There are plenty of half-empty establishments around if that's what you prefer. I like that the Tavern is not trendy, it is a tavern in the classic sense. Recommended.

Terrible hospitality. I invited my cousin from Manhattan to lunch last Tuesday and he wanted to go to The Tavern. When we entered the restaurant it was 1:30pm, lunch rush was over. The hostess made eye contact with me but never greeted us or offered to assist. After a number of employees walked past with out even a hello, I commented to another hostess if we were invisible. The hostess that made initial eye contact became overly offensive fussing that she thought we were going to the bar. We finally were seated on the patio and the waitress I believe her name was Tiera was very friendly and professional. Later on, I went inside to use the men's room and suddenly, a manager demands, "what's the problem"? I am wondering, WTF? I thought a may I help you would have been more appropriate. I almost lost it considering that I spent $135.00 in that place but never again. That is the first time I ever experience racism from my own race. Shame on them.

This is a great place to wait out the Atlanta Rush Hour!. I took my business clients there after a meeting and they could not stop thanking me for bring them there.

Imagine an Elite model agency and Happy Hour YEAH. In my opinion:

Imagine an Elite model agency with awesome drinks and a great atmosphere.... The Tavern at Phipps is the result. Famous for it's happy hour. The bartenders have honed their craft and could star in Cocktail and Kenny G type's performs nightly outside. The food is very good, mainly Louisiana/cajun inspired. Hours of Operation: Mon-Thu 11am-11pm Fri-Sat 11am-12am Sun 11am-10pm

Good food, good drinks, Great Atmosphere. Everytime I go to atlanta I make sure I always stop by here. Located in the Mall next to Saks the Tavern at Phipps is a real treat. Hosting a very large white collar after work crowd the ideal time to snag a table is between 3-5 if you can get one on the patio. About 5 or so the live music on the patio starts and the people start flowing in.

The bartenders definitely are entertaining as they have almost mastered many bar tricks such as throwing a full pint of beer across the bar over someones head and catching it to serve to a patron or pouring a martini into a glass while balancing it on their own head.

The women who work there are beautiful and so are a lot of the women who go there to have some drinks. Being in the ritzy area of Atlanta, well worth the trip to see nice cars, good looking people and enjoy a cocktail out on the patio people watching.

Atlanta Meat Market. If you are single then this is the place to be. the food is ok but the crowd is filled with beautiful people. It doesn't matter what time of day you go there is always a group of people to gawk at.

Luncheon Fiasco. Pro: Our waitress Misty was knowledgeable and recommended the Thai salad which was very good.

Cons: I took an out of town friend to lunch. We were seated at the door going out to the patio. The door was broken and went clang, metal on metal, each time a server entered or exited. Clang, clang, clang. Then the wind blew tea from a tray all over my white linen pants and my guest's clothes. Welcome to Atlanta and Phipps. The manager came over, apologized and offered to pick up my dry cleaning, but that was the last we saw of him. As we prepared to leave, a waiter said he could move us to a better table, one without the wind and clanging door. Thanks, but we just finished. As we got our bill, I had expected an apology, the dry cleaning offer, something to make up for our disappointing luncheon. Nada. Of course, I could have caused a scene, complained loudly, asked for everything to be comped. I certainly had cause, but I didn't. Now, I won't go back for that apology and won't take any more guests!
