“think that Tower records is the best place to trade in old cds or to buy a new one.”
They Have Everything. If you want it, they got it. Great selection of all genres of CD's and DVD's. Also a healthy selection of used CD's and vinyl. Get there soon because they are going out of business.
Say what you will about corporate chains--mom-and-pop stores can't offer this kind of selection..
In Short
This musical monolith has all its bases covered. With clearly divided genres and strict alphabetizing, it's impossible to get lost looking for your favorite tunes. Most stores provide a variety of listening stations, decent vinyl and singles collections and bulging racks of music, lifestyle and culture magazines. Low prices and helpful salespeople round out the bright, if slighty garish, stores.
Heaven on Earth!. I had not been in a Tower Record store since visiting San Francisco and boy I have I been missing out! Sure you can get all these titles online but you miss out on the record store ambiance, the instant gratification and impulse buys. Tower offers the most diverse selection for every genre and the prices are competitive -- they also have a great selection of items on sale.
Bigger is better. Wow, what a great selection. I'm not a classical music freak, but if I were, I'd be freaking out about the huge selection of classical music. It's got its own room! The selection in other genres is top-notch as well. The prices tend to be lower than other stores--way lower than HMW, right next door in Lenox Mall.
Towers above the competition. I've been in other Tower locations before, but this is the best one I've come across so far. The layout is easy to navigate, and expansive enough that it never feels too crowded or closed-in. The selection is great; this is my first spot to look for hard-to-find stuff before I hit the Internet. And you'll usually find some new, noteworthy releases for $8.99 or so. And of course there's Pulse, pretty impressive for a freebie/handout mag.
