“This is a good place for an expense account however for the price I would dine elsewhere where the level of service matches the price on the menu.”
Excellent experience for wedding rehearsal dinner. Our son and fiance, from out-of-state, decided to marry in Atlanta and we hosted the rehearsal dinner. After considering several Buckhead restaurants we chose Morton's. The venue, food and service were excellent. Sarah Foss, the events planner, was very helpful and everything went perfectly.
Good food and service, but OVERPRICED.
First of all, the food and the service is good. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and the food was cooked just the way we wanted it.
The steak was certainly not the best steak I ever had, but take that with a grain of salt, because I am not saying the steak was bad by any means. It was good, just not the best.
That being said, I think that many of the reviewers who say the food is worth the $$$ don't really care about the amount of money they paid. You can get the same level of dining experience at Ruth's or Rathbun's, for cheaper. (Or better, probably just random circumstances why I didn't love my steak as much as I could have).
Seriously. It is too expensive when you can go to another fine dining Steakhouse for less, period.
The best food ever!. We came here before an event with another couple. Our food was to die for and was worth every penny! All four of us loved our meals. The atmosphere was quiet and very comfortable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves a great steak!
Excellent Steaks - Service was sloppy.
The food is worth the $$$ however for that level of dining one could expect fine dining service. My steak was not presented correctly (they presented the ribeye with the fatty side facing me) and the bread crumb removal came after the meal, not after serving the bread. Wine service was awkward and the server was MIA at the end of the meal.
This is a good place for an expense account however for the price I would dine elsewhere where the level of service matches the price on the menu. They really seemed to lack fine dining experience.
USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis..
In Short
This masculine-oozing national chain has two locations in Atlanta, one in Buckhead and one Downtown. With its dark mahogany details, crisp white linens and tuxedo-clad waters, this upscale steakhouse has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini along side the gimmicked-out cosmos. The menu boasts precisely the guy-like decadence you'd expect; bone-in steaks, Australian lobster tails and hash browns that arrive in a skillet. While it's tradition-central through the course of the meal, Morton's does a relaxed bar menu of small bites for those flying solo, or on a budget. Filet sandwiches, cheeseburger sliders and shrimp cocktail are still classic, yet easily affordable.
Incredible steak. I've never been to Morton's before and had only heard about it. My boyfriend and I went last night for my birthday dinner after unsuccessfully finding a good Italian place. It was quiet, nice ambience, and the staff was pleasant and attentive. We both had ribeye steak, he had the cajun and I had regular from the smaller cut menu. Fantastic. We were going to order 3 sides but didn't know how big they were so if you go, 2 sides will be plenty for 2 people. The Hot Chocolate Cake was also delicious, though took a while to come out. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would love to go again!
User review by megan2112. Morton's in a word is exquisite. I dream of the molten chocolate Godiva cake. Everything I have tried from the lump crab meat, to the Cajun ribeye, tender prime rib, whole Maine lobster, lyonnaise potatoes, perfectly prepared asparagus, and wild mushrooms are outstanding! The decor is romantic dimly lit booths line the walls, as well as, black-n-white celebrity photos, and an open kitchen commands the room. The service is the best in the city. Whatever the occasion the experienced staff will guide you through a delightful meal. However; don't ask them to sing happy birthday umm... let's just hope they keep their night jobs. Ask for Christian she was great
My absolute favorite. We went for my husband's birthday and it was amazing! Make sure to tell them if it's a special occasion and they will go all out for you. Request one of the side booths for a romantic dinner. You must save room for the Godiva cake, it is TO DIE FOR!!
the best of the best. Nothing compares to this top notch steakhouse. Anyone who knows anything about steakhouses knows Mortons is the very best.
Morton's. Excellent!!! At first I did not belive it could live up to the prices on the wall, but after I tried a bite of everyones (lobster, sordfish, primerib) it was clear that the price fit the food.
