In Short – Markdown prices make this Atlanta bookstore chain a perennial favorite. Bestsellers are always 30 percent off, and Oprah's picks are reliably stocked, too. The store's inventory is discounted somewhere between 11 and 75 percent off the cover price. Decor consists of walls painted "Have a Nice Day" yellow, and there isn't much room to sit down and read. This no-frills approach pays off at the cash register--faster than you can say Clark Howard.

- Pros: Great Selection! Great Prices!
