Alfredo's Italian Restaurant
Owner
Since 1974, Alfredo's has created the sights, sounds, smells and particularly the tastes of Italy by offering patrons authentic Italian cuisine. A well-loved dining tradition in Atlanta, Alfredo's welcomes loyal devotees as well as new clientele to sample their new specialties. Try our popular veal dishes like: "The Godfather," a fabulous treat of veal prepared in three different styles or pastas and fresh seafood such as Linguine Pescatore, a combination of mussels, clams, shrimp and calamari in a light tomato sauce over pasta.
Alfredo's boasts delicious homemade desserts, cocktails and has an extensive list of domestic and imported wines.
Changes at this Atlanta landmark mean only a natural evolution of the finest in Italian cooking.

The Scene
A dusky jewel among the lower-strata strip joints and fetish shops of Cheshire Bridge Road, this concrete block bunker is a stalwart veteran of the Atlanta dining scene. Experience-seekers will squeal with delight upon entering the low-lit dining room with its red vinyl, gilt decorations and tuxedo-clad servers. Premium seats have their back to the wall.
The Food
Much of the appeal at this local favorite is the old school atmosphere, and there are plenty of reliable Italian favorites on the menu. Follow your instincts and go retro to the hilt--big cocktail warm-up at the bar followed by stuffed mushrooms, fettuccini alfredo, veal parmagiana and cheesecake. Alfredo's might not become your regular hangout, but it's an Atlanta institution that's definitely not to be missed.

My wife and I decided to take a friend of ours out for Italian tonight. For years I ate at Alfredo's. But I had several bad experiences there and quit going. Why I decided to try them again I don't know. Best I can say is maybe they are "h*t or miss." This place used to be GREAT. My friend's food (he is Italian and loves to eat) was a disaster. It was hot and cold. He says they sprinkled some items on top and expected the sauce to heat them up. He gave me a clam and a piece of calamari and they were both stone cold. Simple advice, if you are not a regular there, JUST DON'T DO IT!!!! If you are a regular there tell the establishment the truth. They need to know.

Try not to fill up on the generous amounts of garlic bread and antipasti they start you off on. Everything here is excellent, from the appetizers (escargot is excellent) and pastas to the veal, chicken, and seafood dishes, to the filet mignon. They have a good wine list, but the house wines are all pretty palatable and cheap. AMAZING service and dark, cozy atmosphere.

Alfredo's is consistently good. Some might not care for the decor but its actually very cozy - in a "take me back a few decades" sort of way.
