The Scene – Cacti and tile mosaic wall hangings decorate this quintessential Mexican restaurant. Spinning fans, a blue ceiling, and Mexican music add authenticity to the informal atmosphere. Adjacent to the main dining room sits a designated smoking section with a good-sized bar. When temperatures rise, the large patio is nice for ordering pitchers of their famous margaritas. – – The Food – There's little unexpected about the traditional Cuban-influenced Mexican menu of tacos, burritos, taco salads and run-of-the-mill fajitas. The Texas Margarita is exceptional,…
Good service, mediocre food/drinks

I was excited to go to this restaurant after all the good reviews I had seen. Needless to say, I was very disappointed by the actual experience. My boyfriend and I sat outside on the patio, which was nice and large, but the chairs were pretty cheap and the table was very rickety (we kept spilling a little bit of our drinks every time we touched the table).
When we sat down we were immediately presented with chips and salsa - which were fine. We then ordered a 3 item combo appetizer. The empanada wasn't that much better than something from Taco Bell and the chicken quesadilla wasn't great either. The other item (I can't remember what it was called) was unedible.
We also ordered drinks - one "Texas" margarita (basically a cadillac), and one red wine sangria. Both came out with very little ice and were warm. The sangria was ok, but the margarita wasn't really up to par.
After that I ordered two tacos (one carne asada, and one carnitas), while my boyfriend ordered a kind of pulled pork combination plate. I didn't try the combination plate, but my boyfriend said it wasn't anything special. My tacos were also mediocre. The tortillas were partially burnt, the meat was fairly bland, and there seemed to be more onions than meat. I was not impressed.
Luckily, while the food wasn't good, the service was excellent. Our server (as well as someone else who could've been a food runner or a manager - not sure) checked on us often, but not too much to become annoying.
In conclusion, Las Margaritas is a good place to go if you stick with the chips and salsa and maybe a couple drinks (beer would be safe), but if you want good Mexican food, head to Nuevo Laredo instead.
- Pros: Attentive service
- Cons: Food
Great Mexican- Latin American restaurant!
by kduquemin at Citysearch
On a Sunday and after I had won a tennis tournament, my boyfriend and I searched aimlessly for a Mexican-like restaurant. After scouring Buford highway and strangely going into a couple places whose prices were crazily expensive (I am talking like $40 appetizers... It was weird!), we came across cute Las Margaritas! It has a patio that is heated in the winter, and an inside that is decorated with a Latin American like bright and bubbly vibe. This place has a charm that you don't find in many restaurants.
My bf and I actually visited there for the second time last Sunday. It is a little far from Castleberry Hill, but certainly worth the drive! The prices are great and the menu is broad with numerous options for even the most picky eater. I can't wait to go back!
- Pros: Great food! Great prices! Great atmosphere!.. What more could you ask?!
- Cons: Nada yet.
Highly reccommended!

I've been to Las Margaritas several times, and so far, I can't say enough good things about them. I've suggested it to my friends a number of times when we're going out, and had my sister's surprise birthday party there. When you do that, since you suggested the place, if things go badly, you kind of feel like a schmuck. Instead, everything went perfectly, and every time, Las Margaritas staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. Great for groups and they also have theme nights.
The food is really good and well-priced. In particular, the Sancho panza, the delectable mojitos and the fantastic queso.
- Pros: Good food, great staff, very good portions and value for the price, fantatic mojitos.
- Cons: Parking can get kind of interesting, not all of the entrees are winners.
