Dressed in drab gray and perpetually empty, Bamboo Luau reads like an expanded version of the Chinese food court formula. Inattentive staff and cliche novelty drinks are perfect for students and burn-outs. If you've got a hankering for a late night eats with a seedy underbelly, Luau serves till 3am.

The Food
This is the budget Cantonese that sustained you throughout college. Think fried meats served in sticky, sweet sauces with stale, undercooked rice. Chicken Honolulu, two chicken breasts pounded thin and fried, is served with a "Hawaiian" orange sauce. Crabless crab rangoons are slicked with day-glo red sauce. Hunan beef, sauteed with vegetables and brown sauce, is your best bet for a decent dinner. Fried bananas, topped with more sweet sauce and sesame seeds, is the best thing on the menu.
