Domus International is King of Contemporary. We were in Atlanta visiting friends in February.

He's an Architect and I'm an Architectural Metal Fabricating business owner in Massachusetts.

He suggested a Domus visit.

The place is eye candy for those into contemporary.

What a display!

I know design, I know quality of materials, I know workmanship. This is the best!

I didn't expect to buy, but saw a sofa that was so compelling we bought it and had it shipped.

We love it.

Great sales staff, great service, reasonable prices.

These people know what theyre doing. Bob Caras

Domus International- Highest quality products and service. It has been a pleasure to work with, and buy from, Domus International, Atlanta, GA. Being in the store is like being in a musuem of modern art and furnishings. Every object is beautiful and beautifully presented. The staff is extremely knowledgable, warm, and accomodating. I purchased a custom B & B Charles sofa that arrived on time and is of the highest quality. I also purchased a round oak table that was in inventory, and with which I am extremely satisfied. Both items were quickly shipped to NJ for a reasonable fee. I highly recommend Domus International for those shopping for very high quality products and service. Diane H. Tracey, Hoboken, NJ.

The Worst Service Ever - Avoid This Store. 12 months ago, we purchased 6 designer dining room chairs with fabric covers in a color we loved. Domus told us they had only 4 chairs but the remaining two would be ordered from the factory. After 3 months, Domus informed us the fabric and color we purchased was no longer available. If we had been told in the beginning we would not have ordered the chairs. We ordered six new covers in a color we liked much less but Domus wanted our used covers back to sell to someone else. After 9 months and repeated calls neither the remaining two chairs nor the six covers had arrived. We demanded our money back and canceled the order. After 12 months, Domus called to say our 6 covers and remaining chairs had arrived. I told Doumus we would only purchase the items if we cold keep the orginal covers also. Domus refused. Avoid this arrogant store and staff who don't believe in customer service.

The customer had ordered the original chairs during the summer when the Italian factory was closed. Once the factory reopened we were informed that the fabric was discontinued. We offered to have the factory produce six new covers specially made in the fabric of their choice at our cost. The customer chose a new fabric, approved the order and agreed to return the original covers in exchange for new ones once they arrived. This is generally a lengthy process. The fabric was shipped from Denmark to Italy and then the covers were handmade and shipped to Atlanta. Domus covered all charges and essentially sold the new chairs to the customer at less than cost. In the meantime the customer cancelled the charge on his credit card and refused delivery of the custom chairs once they arrived.

Domus never delivers. After ordering furniture here and giving a hefty deposit, we are 7 months and counting for delivery. Customer service has been nil- we call and all we get is, " we don't know when you'll get it." They take your money and leave you hanging. They gave us the excuse that the factory actually closed down for a few months, but only after repeated calls on our part- they have never been proactive in communicating about our order. Had we been informed of the delay, we would have canceled and gone elsewhere. Now it's Christmas and we still have no living room furniture.

Don't go here unless you can't possibly find it anywhere else. We should have.

Unconventional European furniture store puts a high price on premium design.. The Scene
Slick modern design slinks across the pale wood floors and stark white walls in Domus' main showroom, a space with vaulted warehouse-high ceilings. Architects, designers and wealthy homeowners browse the open floor plan, with living room and kitchen designs at the entrance, bedroom and office at the rear of the store. Downstairs, shiny home accessories woo.

The Goods
The ultra-contemporary furniture of B&B Italia, Driade and Mexalto is set up in living room-like arrangements. The rear of the showroom boasts an entire wall of plastic, cardboard and leather chairs. Also find unusually shaped couches, grand oak tables, low-lying beds, ultramodern foam chairs and aluminum desks--each a work of art. Downstairs, the Driade dishes, Alessi kitchen and bath accessories, Iittala crystal and Salviati glassware tempt with elegant, yet quirky, charm. The lighting shop boasts modern track, floor and tabletop options.

A breath of fresh air (at a price). New to the area (Athens, actually...), we visited Domus while looking for a table for our new home. While we didn't see what we wanted in the showroom, we did see many very interesting pieces. The best thing about the experience was that, unlike the service at other furniture stores we've visited in the Atlanta area, the folks here were very helpful and professional -- that is, no stalkers, no snubs. We left with a handful of designers' brochures and a determination to visit again for future needs.

Upscale modern design. Upscale modern design. Difficult to find modern designer's furniture, furnishings and lighting.
