Don't expect good - or even decent - service here. Pitiful on a good day. I'll never be back - left after 10min at table, NO server. The young woman who seated me (and then left me a dirty menu and didn't take my drink order) later seated another couple at the TABLE NEXT TO ME, and TOOK their drink order! All this time I'm waiting, the place is nearly empty -- and a couple of other servers at the other end of the dining room pointing at tables (including mine), apparently trying to figure out which table to ignore first. I won. One of the OTHER servers then walks PAST ME, and back to the aforementioned table that the hostess took drink orders. I was obviously being ignored. Pancho's; don't ever expect to see me there again.
I will never eat here again.. I placed my take out order at the bar and received prompt & fast service. I ordered 3 tacos, 1 burrito, and 1 tamale for dinner, thinking this will be plenty for two people. When I picked up my order the bag felt really light for the amount of food ordered. The tacos hardly had any beef in them. The burrito was the same way and the beef was chewy. The tamale was tiny and cost $3. I was extremely disappointed with the quantity and quality of the food. My bill was $14.85 and I was still hungry after eating my half.
Bland food for the money.
I wouldn't say the food is horrible at Pancho's, but it definitely is NOT worth the money you pay for it. I don't believe I've had blander mexican food in my life. Everything is at least as expensive if not more so that Nuevo Laredo (the gold standard of mexican cuisine in atlanta) but the food is far far far inferior. Also, unless you order Texas style, the margaritas will be like watered down sour mix.
Don't make a special trip to this place for a treat, you will be disappointed.
Mmmmmm margaritas!!!. Pancho's has great chips and salsa. We ordered a cheese dip and the spice made us order more drinks. I had the chicken wings and they are really good for a Mexican place. The patio is really nice. The service could use some improvements but I'll be back for sure.
YES PANCHOS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR THE BEST MARGARITAS!!!!. I love this place! The margaritas are the best in town and the bartenders are always on the ball refilling your drinks just in time. Everyone knows the customers and are always friendly. If you wanna expierence an atmosphere that is friendly and exciting than you need to check this place out. No matter where you sit your expierence is top notch and full of fun.
Watch Out! Very Low Health Inspection Scores!. My husband and I used to enjoy eating here. But the health inspection scores for the last two inspections dipped below 80...completely unacceptable. We experienced one of the problems mentioned on the Dekalb County board of health website....cold food which could harbor bacteria. Eat at your own risk until things improve. I hope they fix it we miss Pancho's!
Best Mexican Experience in Atlanta!!!. If you are looking for a fast wine and dine..then don't come here. This is the BEST place to go with friends or anyone. They have the best margarita's in Atlanta, and do not charge you an arm and leg for it. Their food is authentic and true to the Mexican way, the value makes it even better!! The atmosphere makes you feel like you are away and just enjoying life...even though you over look I-85. It is a back type of place, do not expect the waiters to hurry you out...come on..it is Mexican. It out does Rio Grande any day of the week, esp when it comes to the drinks. A $5 margarita gets you feelin good, and a $15 pitcher has your feeling even better! I love it and have gotten so many people hooked on it...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Horrible Service.
My friends and I use to go to Pancho's all the time. Lately the service has gone down hill. You seat yourself which is nice and they have a great patio with the large tree but....you never get waited on unless you stop someone walking by. The margaritas are very watered down or shall I say, nothing but sour mix. The chips & cheese dip are tasty and once you actually get your food it is good.
Don't expect to get out in and out of there in a hurry!
Best Mexican in Town. This place is awesom. The food is great and I was very impressed by the service. The staff did everything in their power to make your dining experience pleasurable. Also, I got the Texas Margarita (with Gold Label and Grand Marnier) and it was the best Margaerita I have ever had, but very strong. I highly recomd this place.
exceptionally mediocre..
The best description that I can give of this place is "mediocre." My boyfriend's margarita tasted watered down, and my carnitas were just tasted like they boiled them English-style (ie. no taste whatsoever) or something. The only thing I can say that's good is that their chips were light and their salsa was actually a little spicy (most places always seem to make theirs bland for fear of complaints of it being too hot), but really, I'm not going to go to a place just for chips and salsa.
Also, they had a mariachi band, which seems like it'd be fun, but then the wait staff just stood around watching them instead of, you know, actually waiting on the people at their tables. Our waiter wasn't bad actually, but it seemed like he was waiting on over half the restaurant because over half his coworkers were simply too lazy.
