Absolutely Delicious Breakfast!. So my husband and his co-workers had been raving about a breakfast/brunch spot fairly close to their office--The Original Pancake House in the Publix shopping center on the corner of Cheshire Bridge and Lavista Rd...today was the first day I could go there with him myself...and boy was the food worth it! I ordered a short stack of (3 large, fluffy, light, and ridiculously tasty) pumpkin pancakes--delish! I also ordered a scrambled egg on the side, as well as a medium order of fresh blueberries with equally fresh whipped cream and powdered sugar on its side. Everything was really good, and I'm a stickler for good food...

...the only problem was our server--her service was flat, she was less than friendly, and was absolutely unable to describe one of their house specials, the Apple Pancake. Out of frustration, I decided to forego the Apple Pancake order and ordered the pumpkin pancakes. However, I was really glad I did--those pumpkin pancakes were to die for!

If you can make their hours, definitely check this Cheshire Bridge treat out! :)

Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor.. In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."

If you are looking for something unusual, different and good.. Seating takes a few minutes, probably between 15 minutes and half an hour. The inside is diner quality. Wait staff was friendly, but did not seem from the south. That is to say it was very dry and move move move. The food was really good though. If you are looking for something unusual, look at the specialties. We had 2 of the 6 'specialties.' We had the Apple Pancakes and the Dutch Baby. The Dutch Baby was very interesting and needs an acquired taste; lots of butter, powdered sugar and fresh squeezed lemon. The Apple Pancake on the other hand was top notch. It was very big and had a great robust taste of apple and cinnamon. Other dishes that were passing by looked very well and the side comments were very favorable.

A R0ACH in the pancake. One of our orders of pancakes came out with a R0ACH cooked into it. What is worse is that It was a banana pancake (white in color), not suppose to have anything brown in it.......it was plated with the r0ach in plain view. A very large r0ach. The r0ach must have fallen into the batter, which means the whole batch of batter was likely contaminated that day. Gross.

The manager came by, very apologetic, and offered 1/2 off the check. I thought he should have paid for the whole thing.

I used to love this place, but I don't think I can stomach eating there again!

YUM!. Great comfort food, which extends well beyond the pancakes. Omlettes are WONDERFUL, and the coffee is always hot and fresh!

My favorite Saturday Morning hangout. WOW! I love this diner...My favorite menu selection when I am keeping my figure (hah, hah) is a hot bowl of Oatmeal with, of course, all the trimmings. When I am not worried about my figure (you know, after I have expended every available calorie dancing Friday night), I will add the French Toast. I have ordered or tasted everything on the menu and give these folks an overall 10.

Get out early on Saturday and Sunday...as with any great restaurant the wait preceeds the reputation.

Brunch time!. Great Brunch food, but there's always a wait on Sunday. Items you won't find anywhere else. Whenever I take out-of -town guests, they love it.

used to be awesome. now this place is not that great. VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!! If you go, stick w/ the pancakes & 1/2 stack is plenty! My Dad & I went there(Cheshire location), his eggs arrived cold, it was tough to get a refill on coffee, etc. The place has slipped alot in the past few years, be careful!!
