“Great ambience but the food was awful.”
“There is a reason why Chin Chin was voted Best Chinese Food in Atlanta: it is, hands down, the BEST Chinese cuisine I have ever sampled.”
“Fantastic food, a really great place, we had a large group and we still recieved outstanding service.”
“The management were so completely rude to my husband and i that we will never go there again.”
“good food fast delivery and speedy service.”
“ordered healthy veggies, specifying extra broccoli with a little tofu, and was presented with huge chunks of tough tofu peppered with a few limp grey overcooked veggies.”
“The food is absolutely amazing and the service is attentive if a little slow (can't blame them though when it's soooo busy).”
Their delivery menu is one of the longest I've seen. Normally when I try a new chinese place, I'm either happy with the entrees but not so much with the rice, or I love the rice but the entrees have a bit to be desired. Chin Chin was excellent on both counts. If you like fried rice, try the Shrimp or House Fried Rice. Their honey glazed pork ribs are a great appetizer as well. You really can't go wrong -- everything's good!
Chin chin delivers fast. Consistently good chinese. A little more pricey than your neighborhood chinese, but worth the extra $. Huge portions.
The WORST most rude customer service EVER. After waiting over an hour for delivery i called to have them say it's on the way. A half hour after that we called back they said it was on the way. 15 minutes later we called to cancel the order. Joeseph the manager could care less. I was insulted and called back to ask for the manager he lied and said he wouldn't give me the managers name. I told him I was gonna give a bad review and he litterally said "I don't care" and hung up.
I agree with doylebenton: CRAP FOOD!!.
When I saw the menu, I thought it was a LOT of money for Chinese food, but hey, they have brown rice and I'm tired and the place looks okay so why not.
BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED! I ordered healthy veggies, specifying extra broccoli with a little tofu, and was presented with huge chunks of tough tofu peppered with a few limp grey overcooked veggies. It's as if they had cooked them days ago and just warmed them up to get rid of them. YUKKO!
The egg drop soup was extra salty and had a peculiar flavor, and the crunchies for it had a distinct "old oil" quality. Oh, and the reason for me getting the food in the first place, the brown rice, was bland as can be. Maybe my dog will eat it.
ALL THAT FOR A WHOPPING $17! WASTE OF MONEY! NEVER AGAIN!
HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!!.
O.K. Folks STAY AWAY. WARNING!!! WARNING!!!
I have eatin chinese food all over the country. I'm not the type to take the time to write a review on anything either. BUT, I had to COMPLAIN about this place. THIS IS THE WORST CHINESE FOOD ON THE PLANET!!!!!! I just got my order wich I spent 35$$ plus 5$ tip for the delivery driver and my food is CRRRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP!!!
This food is by far the worst chinese food ever. This place should be shut down permanatly. I really would rather lick a dirty toilet than eat this food. I gagged from the taste of it. My hot and sour soup smelt like ass and the egg foo young must be made from rotting eggs because it is very FOUL TASTING. I'm calling to complain and try and get my money back. I ordered 3 meals , 1 for myself, and 2 for co-workers. NOONE WILL EAT THEIR FOOD because it tastes like CRAP!!! We wasted our lunch money and will have to go hungry because of this place. THANKS CHIN CHIN FOR TRYING TO KILL US!!! I bet you take a crap and don't wash your filthy hands either COOKS! You hate americans so you serve us this pile of TURD! Should get NO STARS!!!!
Best Chinese in Atlanta. My husband and I traveled quite a bit to Atlanta before relocating here. One place we had to visit everytime we visited was Chin Chin. In fact, when we were looking our new home we wanted Chin Chin to be close by, knowing it was one of our favorites. The staff is friendly and has a great sense of humor. They know us so well that they usually throw in some extras from time to time. The Kung Pao Chicken is the best! If you are looking for a mellow place to sit and enjoy a great meal and have a good conversation, this is a great place. The wine list is reasonable and they are also very accomodating when it comes to small groups.
Something extra in the rice. Two co-workers and I went for lunch 2 weeks ago. My co-worker found a dried out insect in her fried rice. First the server apologized and offered her the meal for free. He told the manager. The manager never came over or said a word to us. They ended up giving us all our meals for free. They didn't seemed alarmed or panicked about the dead insect in the rice.
Overpriced, Cooks pick their nose in the kitchen, Rude staff.
This place should be shut down and replaced with a nuclear waste dump to improve the deplorable existence of Chin Chin's in Brookhaven. I am embarrased for anyone that equates that resturant (if you call it that) with my neighborhood.
They have a glass window so you can see the cooks doing their job. Apparently part of the ingredients for Chin Chin's is boogers and snot. The cooks have no shame in displaying the ancient nose dig techniques. So much for the wash your hands before returning to work signs in the powder room. I will never eat there again.
Additionally, the service was absolutely beyond repair, a politician games of listening but not listening garners more trust than these people. They don't care about customers at all.
If I could have taken the Citysearch rating stars above and pushed a Citysearch "super nova button" to create a blackhole to feed Chin Chin into....well...that would be a good start to cleaning up Brookhaven's image of horrible destination spots.
In other words, they don't even deserve a 1 star rating!!
great shrimp. good food fast delivery and speedy service. I ordered some shrimp fried rice and it was delivered quickly and hot the driver got a nice tip cause my order was delivered ontime he was very courteous and respectful.
Definitely overhyped - simply not good food or service.
When I moved to Atlanta, several months ago, I read online and in print reviews about how great the food at Chin Chin was. I was amazed to find out first hand, just how spectacularly undelicious the food really is -- at least the food at this restaurant on Peachtree. From the dumplings that seem like they had just been defrosted from a freeze dried state, to the tasteless seasame noodles and the insipid sauces, none of which taste like they were made from scratch, rather poured from a can fresh off the shelf of Costco. Since Chin Chin is only about 1/2 a mile from my house, I have had the displeasure of trying the food on multiple occaisions (friends and family have brought by pick up orders - not at my behest) and each time it has been consistently unpalatable.
Perhaps the most amazing part of the dining experience at this restaurant is the reception you receive. The woman hovering over the front desk, who doubles as both hostess and cashier, is perhaps the most impolite and petulant service persons around (it's my guess that she has to be the owner or the owner's wife). She has a temperament better suited for a position as an IRS field agent, rather than that of a hostess/greeter, or any service position for that matter.
