“Don't look for ambiance, great servers or the "in-crowd" in this place.”
“You'll have to wait for a table, but the wait is short and the bar is quick, so enjoy your wait.”
“The food is absolutely dreadful.”
“Nuevo Laredo has some of the best mexican food in town- their vegetarian dishes in particular shine, especially when you consider that meatless options at a mexican restaurant are often limited to cheese enchilladas & refried beans (oh wait!”
“Not a good place for a quiet date or if you are trying to impress someone.”
“We liked Nuevo before we had a kid, but we will never go back now.”
“The portions are huge and the service is wonderful.”
“Enchiladas were small and the huge plate was covered in lettuce and rice/beans to make it look like a lot of food.”
“Service could be better, but the food is authentic and expect to wait a long time since this place is so popula.”
Excellent. This is one of my favorite Tex Mex restaurants in Atlanta. The food is worth the wait! I have had several items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is not the best I have ever had, but my glass is never empty, the chip basket always has chips. The servers are not "chatty" as the place is always busy. The parking could be better and I wish the wait was shorter. But what drew me to the place was seeing all of the people waiting outside, I knew if people would wait outside in Atlanta with our heat and humidity to eat here, the food must be good. They and the many others that eat here can't be wrong. You've got to try this place!
horrible. first of all- it's a terrible, out of the way location, with very limited parking. second, the service is awful. nobody ever came by to see how our meal was. food was overpriced. the kicker was i never felt so bloated and sick for 2 days after eating there. had beef chile relleno. 25.00 for just my meal. which was chile relleno plus a margarita. yikes!
This restaurant really boosts my appetite. This restaurant was awesome. The quality of food is outstanding and the wait staff made me laugh. This is a nice place where you can just hang out.
So Far the Best you're gonna get.
Still on the search for good Mexican, but this place so far has the best I've found, still leaves you searching for better though.
Very laid back atmosphere which is really cool. Drink a beer in the parking lot while you wait.
The Chicken Enchiladas Suiza are pretty decent, HUGE portions.
For now this will have to do.
Authentic Border-Mexican Food. With factories and wholesalers as its neighbors along Chattahoochie Ave, Nueveo Laredo is a worthwhile trek for some authentic border-Mexican grub. Cool, prickly, and cilantro laden salsa go great with the tangy bright green margaritas. Order anything with brisket on the plate and you'll thank me later. Gooey yellow cheese and red sauces accompany most entrees including tacos and enchiladas. Combination plates are available and the portions are generous, people, so order a couple dishes and pass them around the table to sample the menu. The all-Latino staff is mega friendly and patient, but be prepared to split up your large party to avoid a huge wait - especially on the weekends.
Lost our business. A group of us (6) went out to lunch from work as we do on a regular basis. Typically we all pay with Credit Card. Nuevo will not allow groups to pay with credit card as they say it takes to much time. In addition, they automatically put a 20% tip on your bill, which is typically what I give for great service. In my opinion, the service is not great and the manager is not customer focused. In addition, there are rules posted all over the place once you walk in, "no cell phones", "no seperate checks"... When I go out eat that last thing I want is rules... Food is very good, but overall experience is average at best.
incredible fish tacos. I am not a big Mexican fan but this place has the best salmon tacos I have ever had. They are always delicious and always fresh. They also have great salsa and queso. I have been there several times and have always gotten the fish tacos. Even with the crowds, I have always had good service and there are some hot waitresses.
R**CH MOTEL!!!!!!. My friend and I went to this Cantina with high hopes on Saturday afternoon June 30,2009. We love mexican food and had heard about Nueco Laredo through people and websites. We arrived to this small hole in the wall and ate in the lower area. As my friend was finishing her meal behold the biggest R**CH ever. The waiter quickly grabbed the r**ch but our experience was ruined. We talked with the manager and she told us that they have been having a lot of problems and that she would comp our drinks but we ended up paying for the food.....that will be my first and last time there.
Not for kids - Awful Experiance!. I have never been to a more un-kid friendly mexican restaurant. My husband and I go out to eat 2-3 times a week with our 15 month old daughter and we have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. Our daughter is very well behaved, but the servers made it very clear that we were not welcome. For example, my daughter dropped one sealed sugar packet on the floor and the server came running over to pick it up and the guy made a huffing sound. He then got out the sweeper and started sweeping around her high chair...for a closed sugar packet! There was no sugar anywhere! I also felt them hovering for the rest of the meal and they charged us a 20% gratuity. My husband and I normally give at least 25%, but not to this place. We liked Nuevo before we had a kid, but we will never go back now. Awful experiance!!!
