Illegal Agreements With Minors/ Sharks posing as Ice Cream V. It so amazes me that so much has changed. When I was younger my siblings and I could not wait for the ice cream truck to come around. Mom would give us allowance and we would save just enough for our ice cream of choice. My favorite was Strawberry Shortcake. The ice cream truck representative was always friendly kind and honest.

Well I wish that I could say the same about the ice cream truck that has found it's way into our neighborhood. I gave my son (12 years old) $6 to go and get the ice cream of his choice and a Nestle Crunch ice cream for me. When my son arrived back he had two ice cream and fifty cent. I quickly retrieved the change and the ice cream from his hands and got in my vehicle to find the ice cream truck to return the product. When I saw the truck I walked up and told the driver that I wanted to return the product and receive my funds back. He begin to argue with me and threaten to call the police. I agreed that he should do that but instead he got on his cell phone and phone someone else. I asked him to call the police please and begin to explain how my son owed him money for ice cream that he had given him in the past. He also said that my son should have told me that he owed him money. I immediately asked him if he had told his mother everything, that it was neither here are there I just wanted my funds back for the ice cream that was just purchased and he could keep what was owed to him, I assured him that my son would not be patronizing his truck any more. He refuse to give me my due monies and he said that they did not give refunds and I could call his company if I wanted. I did not see a sign that stated that there were no refunds or exchanges posted throughout the entire truck. I am very disappointed in the way that the young man handled the issue and the way that the defamation of my character was given when he spoke with the other individual on the phone.

I wasn't aware that our children would be approached by loan sharks at the age of 12. These illegal agreement between this obvious adult and my child posses a question of why? This individual has taken an advantage of my child and I am sure there are more.

I look forward to pursuing this issue by speaking with authorities about this illegal and unjust act.
