In Short
The site of the original East Lake #2 course, opened in 1930, the front nine feels like an old-school track while the back nine is modern and space-saving. Built by Tom Cusins the same year he revitalized next door's East Lake Golf Club, the Yates course is a small, par 58 executive size course that boasts the same greens keeper to the exclusive next door neighbor. The course is open to the public, and with its'short length is perfect for folks just learning the game, or those who want a casual afternoon round. Keeping with East Lake's motto of "Golf with a Purpose," the Yates course allows any neighborhood kid under the age of 18 to play for free. Look for a lot of par 3's and a few short par 4's among the occasional glimpse over the fence at East Lake

This is a great spot for beginners with lots of par 3’s. The front 9th is very fun with the back 9 a little more challenging. Nice driving range and a great price.

This sister to East Lake Country Club is a well maintained course with a quasi par 3 feel, but has plenty of long holes on the back nine. Always easy to get on.

Know Before You Go:
There is a great practice facility at Charlie Yates. When East Lake was bidding for the US Open, there was talk that the Yates course range would be the practice facility for that major.
Save Money:
Head out in the summer twilight hours and get discounted rates. Your rate drops even more if you decide to walk and carry your own sticks.
Look Good:
While the dress code is much more casual than East Lake, it's always smart to wear a golf shirt and non-denim pants.
Parking:
There's a free lot. Since there is no locker room you'll have to change in and out of your golf shoes in your car.
