The Scene – This neighborhood bar could have been a used bookstore in a former life. A musty den, complete with books, couches and an old globe, sits a few steps above the rest of the room. Thrift store furniture, vinyl booths and thumb-tacked Polaroids make up the homespun decor. The basement, which offers foosball, pool and video games, makes a frat house look like the Biltmore House. – – The Draw – It's the best place to brave the overhyped seediness of East Atlanta. The crowd is a friendly mix of East Atlanta hipsters and sightseers: guys in Atari T-shirts who…
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- After the Gravity Pub, go on an old-fashioned bar crawl through East Atlanta.
- Know Before You Go:
- All the games downstairs require at least one 25-cent piece. The bartenders will give you change, but avoid the wait and pack your own.

Responsible for my Bukowski-an downfall
by Drkfther66
I have been suckling at the Gravity for years and years, and it has never done me wrong. I was sad to see it close temporarily, but I've been a couple times since the re-opening and it's basically the same old place. The decor, (as it were) has improved a bit, new floors, etc, but still the same sort of crew and old Gravity feel.
As the old stickers said, "Gravity Pub....Not For Everyone". But if you are one, you will feel right at home.
- Pros: Will drag you into a drunken world of wonderful proportions.
- Cons: Gets crowded on the weekends. So does everywhere else. Live with it.
WOW GREAT food and booze too!

Great group of people to hang out with and THE BASEMENT WILL BE OPEN SOON! This place has had it's ups and downs, and it is on the way up. New Menu and lots of fun! Tues. is TACO night, and Sunday Brunch is great. They tell me the basement will be re-opened soon with games and stuff. Cool!
Great place to hang out, and meet people too. REG's are at home. CHEERS! Atmostphere.
- Pros: New crew, new food and good location
- Cons: Kinda small, until the basement gets the go ahead.
Lots of beers, new food mix, true friendly East Atlanta experience

Gravity Pub was the 2006 editor's choice for Best Dive Bar in Atlanta for good reason. A great place to hang out. The menu has some new and really creative items along with typical bar fare. It is the kind of atmosphere where everyone is welcome. 21 and over only. Not Buckhead, a real East Atlanta experience."
- Pros: Friendly people of all types, creative mix of foods, lots of beer brands
- Cons: It is not Buckhead, if that is what you are looking for
