Not that spectacular.... – I'm a hot wing GURU and, if you are a GURU, these are just run of the mill. I have a combination hot/lemon pepper.
The Hot sauce is simply not special and is not even close to some of the others around town. The Lemon Pepper, however, is the most lemony I've ever tasted. Try them out if you're a LP fan. A few of my wings were a bit dried out.
They're expensive and they don't take cards. Just meh, to me.
Street Food Done Right – Jamal's is essentially a glorified street food cart located in an unassuming parking lot behind the Georgia Dome. Blink and you'll miss it, this tiny cart packs a wallop of a punch cranking out made-to-order hot wings. The best thing to do is open your styrofoam container immediately and dive in to avoid the inevitable soggyness that will come from transport. If you can't eat them all on the hood of your car, at least sample a few before the trek home. Little containers of bleu cheese and celery accompany the buffalo sauce-slathered beauties. Each visit includes well wishes and a smile from the staff - which is usually a one person show.
The Best (FAST) Wings in Atlanta! – These wings are by far THE BEST wings I have had in a long time. I used to go to school in the Atlanta University Center and these wings were the go-to place for great and cheap wings. The wings are not fatty and the flavor choices are great. This wing hut is located in a small and crowded parking lot so be prepared to wait in your car for your wings... But believe me... They are well worth the wait.
This little wing shack does the city's best hot wings out of a parking lot on MLK. – In Short
Good hot wings don't always need to come with a sports bar attached. Quite frankly, this is the way wings should be served--out of a free-standing building (think taco truck), in Styrofoam containers (to-go only) and located by the Dome (wings = football). Jamal's reached the wing pinnacle by totally owning the three requirements of what good wings should be: 1. Wings need to be smaller rather than jumbo-size. 2. They should rank as high on flavor as they do on the set-your-mouth-on-fire-o-meter. 3. They should be crispy enough to where the skin doesn't get soggy. While you can get your wings sauced in barbecue or lemon pepper, the buffalo sauce is a must try. Not to be outdone, the French fries are hammered in Cajun seasoning, a perfect accompaniment. Jamal's only takes cash, and if it is a slow day, might requires correct change. So come prepared.
