All of Café 458 proceeds go to The Samaritan House, which according to their website “helps homeless men and women transform their lives through employment readiness and life stabilization programs.” Which means your bill and that big old tip you are going to leave go directly to supporting their programs, the waitstaff at Café 458 are all volunteers. The outside may seem a little intimidating, but the inside is warm and inviting. The food is designed and prepared by their executive chef, no volunteer cooks here, this is a professional, and just to let you know, the food is excellent. It’s southern cuisine with a twist. Try the waffles and the salmon and shrimp eggs are a dish I dream about. The coffee is killer too, it comes from Javology next door. Bring your friends, leave a big tip, and come back to volunteer. Once you try it you will be hooked. Good food, Good cause, good times.
