Don't buy used equipment from A City Discount. I have made 5 purchases of used equipment from A City Discount.

The ice maker was completely covered with black mold inside and the pump had been replaced with an incorrect model making the unit unusable. Cost me nearly $600 to have it cleaned and to replace the bad pump.

A 50 lb fryer that I purchased had a bad thermo coupler. Cost me $175 to fix it.

An ice cream freezer that I purchased worked perfectly but it came with no doors. The lack of doors was not mentioned in their description and cost me $160 to buy the doors from the manufacturer who tells me every freezer they ship comes with doors.

A City gave me a whopping $160 store credit for all of these defects. It sits there in my account since I am really not willing to chance buying another non-functional piece of equipment from them. Their packing costs are extremely high and these are in addition to the usual freight charges one would expect to pay for shipping heavy equipment.

I can't say how well they do with new equipment but I would definitely say DO NOT BUY USED equipment from these guys - it's not been tested (even though they say it is) or if it has been tested, their techs are not competent enough to do a thorough job. Buy new. Buy locally. In the end this experience cost me more than if I had purchased new equipment.
