False Advertisement and a dump. I looked at their website and thought it looked like a cool place to bring some out of town family members this past weekend. I was so wrong and embarassed. You website does not indicate that it's just a dirty little bar. The website comes across as a 'Cheeseburger In Paradise' but it's not even close. Wasted $125 bucks on avg food, dirty building and some weird manager dude that kept hanging around my table making sexist comments to everyone. Dump...avoid at all cost.
Elegance !. It still is one of the best .. my father used to come here to this place.. and I still do as well.. not everyday of course ..; but at least once a month just to chill out and find a calming place ... keep it up !
Very charming place in the middle of everything. The food here is delicious. It's one of my wife and I's favorite local places. We can walk there so it feels like getting out of Midtown without having to drive! It is convenient to everything exciting in Midtown and very fairly priced.
Great for dinner before a night on the town!. A great spot for a romantic dinner and also a girls night out! This place has an old city charm to it with a upscale diner kind of feel. You would never think the inside looks the way it does from the outside. Vickery's looks iike it use to be a house that they remodled. Great outside patio overlooking the Midtown skyline with a even better menu to go with it. I ordered their cheeseburger with macaroni and cheese. Their macaroni and cheese is so different with little pieces of pepper in it but is sooo good! I have also heard their tator tots are incredible! Centered right in the middle of Crescent Street, this is a great place for a dinner before a night on the town!
Keep moving.
My first dining experience at Vickery's was twenty years ago. I just went back for dinner after years and was very disappointed.
It was a Sunday evening, and was ignored when I walked in the door. I had grab a menu and order from the Bartender. Sort of dirty, very smokey, and sad, for Vickery's is one of the last of it's kind in Midtown. The food was Okay, Salad and calamari, but nothing like it used to be.
I suppose the ever increasing number of other restaurants in the neighborhood has taken it's toll on an old classic.
LOVED IT!. I came here with some friends and loved it! The food is delicious, the wait stuff are fun, and the atmosphere is great (warm, cozy and fun). Can?t really top that!
Yummy brunch, huge drinks. This place just celebrated their 25th anniversary. I went to the party and it was rocking. These guys know how to have a good time. I have always gone for Sat/Sun bunch and just found out there is an all you can eat brunch for $10 and bottomless bloodies and mimosas for $15 more! Great atmosphere for business lunch during the week. I think it'd be cool for a private party but haven't done that yet! Oh yea....There's a new location in Glenwood Park too!
loved it.............good drinks too!.
Seems things are back to normal at my favorite haunt from the Eighties.
I still love Vickery's even though it has changed.
Still O.K. Patio----But Everything Else Is Sorta Has Been. Staff Drinking On Duty?. This place has been around for years. It was unique for it's patio when Midtown was starting to be the place. We stopped by before going to the new Opera. Drinks were O.K. But what really bothered us, was our server/host, think his name is Tommy, doing shots while he was working. Seems like a fun fellow, but is this the right thing to do at work. Oh well.
Great Midtown Lunch Spot. I had lunch here on a weekday. I absolutely love the atmosphere-- the red vinyl booths are great, very retro! My server recommended the ahi tuna salad with asian ginger dressing. The salad was very good as was the quality of the tuna-- much better than I expected considering they bill themselves as a "bar." There was too much pepper on the crust of the tuna and the cracker/flat bread thing that came with the salad was hard to eat, but that's my only complaint.
