“But it's a great casual place where anyone over 21 can feel comfy.”
“Sit at the bar - the bartenders are always fun.”
“The staff is curtious, the prices are reasonable.”
“No tables were reserved and we had only 2.5 staff (3, then one went home halfway through our evening, leaving 2), who were very slow.”
Not bad, food a little pricey.
Beer
The beer selection is nothing special, and for a British pub there are no more British beers than any average Atlanta bar.
The staff should know what drinks are available. When asking what bitters were sold, I was given a list that included Amstel Light, a lager.
Location
Sitting in the beer garden (patio) is nice on an evening, but the fumes from the road can smell really bad.
Food
The food is good but quite expensive for what it apparently is - microwaved. I determine this by the fact that my bangers and mash arrived within moments of ordering it.
I'm not too sure what a Brit Burger is supposed to be.
The fish and chips are great.
Staff
The pub was unable to accomodate my party's needs. We simply required 3 or 4 tables ot be reserved for us, and staff to wait these provided. No tables were reserved and we had only 2.5 staff (3, then one went home halfway through our evening, leaving 2), who were very slow. We often had to remind them about orders. I waited abnout 15 minutes between arriving and taking my first sip of beer.
The waiters also insisted on constantly referring me to other staff members, as if the waiter I had asked for a drink was not allowed to serve me, and had to get the other waiter to do so.
Icy cold pints and a view of Piedmont Park are on tap at this cozy neighborhood pub..
The Scene
Sitting conveniently across from Piedmont Park, this pub's outdoor covered patio beckons in the warmer months, and its humble, homey interior warms in the colder ones. The location near all the Midtown action guarantees a crowd--even on weeknights.
The Draw
Part of a chain of pubs, Prince of Wales tries to bring the heart of London to Atlanta by piecing together Guinness posters, hearty ales, dartboards and a jukebox. What's lacking is the raw, brotherly spirit born out of an authentic pub--and another basic, good grub. That's not to say it's not a lovable bar. Pints of beer and cozy surroundings won't disappoint, and the addictive crisps are the one exception to the generally mediocre food. Scotch and cigars appeal to a more sophisticated palate. And sitting outside on the patio is a perfect plan after a day in the park or before hitting the hot spots in Midtown.
Great food. The new food at this pub is great. You out did yourself this time this is the food that this area has been waiting for thank you!
The Dice Man. Great pub with a cosy, comfortable and casual feel. Atmosphere is second to none especially on Sundays when some of the guys from the Wings Soccer Team. Wish I was there!!! Roy, Scotland
Best Burgers in Atlanta. What can I say. I love this place. They know how to serve beer, not just sell it. The food is always excellent. The best burgers in Atlanta hands down. The staff is curtious, the prices are reasonable. Just to add a bit here...I have friend from Iowa (you know they love their beef up there) who craves burgers from the Prince of Wales. Whenever she is in town we have to do lunch at the P.o.W and a walk in the park.
Beer Yes Food No. Great for people watching and beer conniessuers, but leave your stomach at home. I love hanging on the patio in spring.
Everybody really does know your name. How do you classify a place with a great location and beer selection, but the worst food in town? Okay, the Friday night happy hour spread is okay, but the rest of the menu is way overdue for an overhaul. Some of the wait staff are the best in town (snaps to Julian, Brie, Joy and all the bartenders), but a couple of them are one step away from being absolute jerks. Sit at the bar - the bartenders are always fun. Hope management will take a hint and update the menu!
Laid-back Pub Fun. It's so nice to have a casual pub in the heart of trendy Midtown. I love the bricked-in patio, the hefty pints of beer and the heavy, but oh-so-tasty fish and chips.
