“great atmosphere.”
“Marina (what a cutie) came by and chatted with us and then brought us out an absolutely terrific dessert - fried ice cream.”
“Great food, drink and with a party atmosphere.”
“It was very reminiscent of an authentic mexican meal.”
“Also, I am not a huge meat eater so I was terribly disappointed in the total lack of vegetarian options.”
“This restaurant is a great place to go for a night out with your friends.”
“will definately go back and will tell my friends that this place is the best!”
“She provided incredible service and attendance to our needs.”
“The food is pricey, but the quantity they give you justifies the price.”
“never have to wait for more than 10 minutes and the food and service has always been excellent!”
Alternative Crowd. I went to Casa Grande about a year ago and remember the food as being very good to excellent. I went back there last Friday, and found it to be extremely crowded with an alternative lifestyle crowd. There was a 10-1 guy-to-girl ratio, if you get my drift. This is not meant to be judgemental, just thought that potential patrons would want to know.
best tex-mex food. im from mexico and i know a lot about the goog test of mexican food, this combination of tex-mex is just great, excellent quality... i don't might to pay those price's..
Trendy Atomosphere inside, cool balcony seating outside. Hola!!!! Its CInco De Mayo! The atmosphere was inviting inside. The bar located at the entrance created an aluring people watching venue, a buzz with laughter and playful conversation. Eclectic. We were told our wait would be thirty minutes. It ended up being much sooner. The homemade salsa was spicy, the chips were crunchy and salty, great soft tortilla's. Fantastic guacamole. It was very reminiscent of an authentic mexican meal. Great wait staff was attentive but not annoying. Would definitely come back on any night.
SMOKIN' SALSA.
I went during lunch on a holiday (President's Day). The place was practically desserted, but that didn't bother me. It simply meant I would get seating that much quicker!
The chips and salsa were awesome. I could have eaten the smoky salsa as a soup alone -- it was just that good. I ordered soft chicken (grilled) tacos which came with fresh fruit and sweet cream. My lunch date ordered the steak fajitas. My tacos were slammin'. The sweet cream was not overy sugary. The extra side of beans I ordered were great as well. Lunch dates fajita's were smaller than we typically see but the guacamole and tortilla's tasted homemade.
Main complaint? Insanely loud considering there were only possibly ten customers in the restaurant. Also, I am not a huge meat eater so I was terribly disappointed in the total lack of vegetarian options.
All in all, I will definately return knowing they do not offer mojito's, my favorite mexican beer and I have to come ready to bite into flesh. *-D
Great Mexican restaurant. I don't understand some of the bad experiences posted here. This place is extremely popular, so I expect there to be a delay in service due to the high volume of customers. However, every time I've come here it has always been a very pleasant time. The server was always knowledgeable and attentive. The food is pricey, but the quantity they give you justifies the price. The fajita dishes are almost too much for a single person to finish. If you eat late, go after 9pm on the weekends when its a bit slower, and you'll have a great dining experience.
Our Neighborhood Fiesta!. We live just around the corner from Casa Grande, on 26th.St, and we just go out our back door. Friday nights are especially festive. Long waits, who cares, go to the bar and get a "Swirl; from George, the bartender/manager, and just schmooze with the crowds. The salsa has a wonderful smokey taste, and bite. The guac is very good also. Bill, the manager, always greets us with a big smile. This is stricktly Cal-Mex at it's finest. Handsdown, my favorite entree is the Large Grilled Prawns, stuffed with Monterey Jack Cheese, wrapped in Bacon, and then broiled. It is servered on a sizzling platter. Ultra friendly Latin staff, from many different countries and cultures. Drinks, food, friends, and a short walk home. Ole!
Love the SWIRLS!. Frozen Margarita mixed with Sangria... very tasty! Love the Nachos and Carne Asada too. The juciest and biggest steak i've had in ahwile
Very average food, high prices. Went for lunch on a Saturday, place was virtually empty. The service was fairly prompt. I thought the food was at best average "American Mexican" and the prices relatively high for the food quality. The music was terribly loud and it was hard to have a conversation with my dining companion, we had to keep asking the server to repeat herself with the specials. You can get much better food for a better price at Laredo Nuevo. The food here is comparable to El Potro on Buford Highway but for 3X the price (actually I think El Potro has slightly better food) I will not not return to this establishment
Super food & super service.
Loved this place. It has very authentic tasting Mexican food and is one of the best Mexican resturants we've ever visited. The waiters and servers were helpful and
friendly, even smiling most of the time. I will definately go back and will tell my friends that this place is the best!
what happened?!.
We used to go to this place on a regular basis and noticed that the service is becoming worse and worse . Last time the waiter brought one straw for the drinks, though there were two of us,besides my husband has to wait his meal for 10 minutes after mine was served.
What happened to Casa Grande? We found that place in 2004 it was all right, but now after almost two years it is no more as good as it was!
