The Scene
Latin music blares loud enough to rattle your dishes at this rustic casual Mexican restaurant. The kiddie crowd comes early and the margarita drinkers stay on, filling several mid-sized rooms--plus the outdoor patio during warmer days. A merry collection of low-quality portraits and a giant Chihuahua in the back room dilute the chain feel with quirky charm. Service is attentive and honest.
The Food
Traditional Mexican flavors like cilantro and chiles and grilled preparations dominate the extensive menu. The ceviche appetizer--shrimp, scallops and whitefish marinated in lime and cilantro--is tangy with just the right amount of sour. A portabello mushroom surrounded by grilled onions, zucchini, corn, potatoes and a sweet mango salad makes a filling vegetarian option. Try beef in the traditional dishes; it's well-cooked and blended with powerful flavors like jalapeno and cumin. Avoid the chili relleno with its soggy breading and uneventful cheese interior. Pumpkin flan energizes the traditional dessert.

The restaurant is very crowded and the food is extremely blah. I would not go back her again. The salsa was so spicy I couldn't eat it, and the food was like slop on a plate

What a terrible experience. Don't plan on conversing with anyone it is so load in there. Our waitress was sexist and would only talk to my boyfriend. My margarita came and it was filled with ice, there was maybe 3 oz of liquid in there and it wasn't good. The food is expensive and nothing to write home about. I was charged .65 cents for something I don't even know and $ 1.75 for sour cream that was supposed to come with the dinner. We just wanted to get out of there. There are plenty of great Mexican restaurants in Atlanta, do not go to this one. Also, My stomach still hurts from dinner !!!!
