In Short – Strategically located on Midtown's power corner, this fast-paced, noisy bistro combines a dance-club sensibility, an eye-catching sushi bar and a fun, bamboo-covered patio. The interior features stage set lights, primary colors and free-floating decorative panels. But the action is at the sushi bar, located inside an ellipsoid wood-and-steel tower. Heavily Americanized sushi offers your best bet, since even no-nonsense basics like shrimp tempura or spicy tuna can be hit or miss.
Very fresh susshi
by millercy
Most of the reviews I read are over a year old so I thought I would update as of April 2009. We had a very nice meal here. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The fish was very fresh and nicely prepared. Would definitely go back.
- Pros: fresh fish, nice drinks, nice staff
- Cons: none that come to mind
Poor, Poor Service
by atlmidtown
Living around the corner, I have visited this place a few times. The food is decent. However, the service is not so good. Last visit, our order was taken and food came about 15 min served by someone out of the kitchen. Not sure, where our waiter was, because we hadn't received our drinks yet.
Tonight we arrived around 6:30 PM, there was around 8-9 tables of customers. The host seated us at the back of the restaurant behind the sushi bar when there were plenty of seats open. After about 15 min of no service, we made contact with the waiters...no order yet. The host peeked back around the corner, so we waited about 5 more minutes hoping he would find someone for us. No such luck . We finally decided after 20 minutes to leave. As we walked toward the door, the 2 hosts turned and started talking to each other and completed ignored us as we walked out the door. I have never been treated so rude.
- Pros: Good location.
- Cons: Poor service. Rude host and hostest.
What trendy is and good is not
by kdmitry
This restaurant is a joke. Unless you are treasuring generic high-tech interiors, high attitude of personal and drag shows more then your food you should not even consider visiting. This is a good example of what trendy is and good is not.
- Pros: Generic/familiar Japanese cuisine for novice
- Cons: Rather sloppy and high attitude service + Generic/familiar Japanese cuisine for novice
