A Great Boutique Hotel in Midtown ATL

The Shellmont Inn is great because it is off Peachtree Street, but only by two blocks. It is a wonderful chance for travelers who are new to Atlanta or the South to really get a feel for what it must have been like to live in the South 100 years ago. Built after the burning of Atlanta during the civil war, it is a very well-maintained.
Although the rooms are not cheap, there are so many services included in the price, it ends up being a better deal, if you ask me, than the big chains. Plus, you end up supporting local business owners and not huge chain places.
The hosts are great too, and won't encroach on your privacy.

The Extras:
The High Museum and other Woodruff Center attractions are five minutes by car. You can also walk to several restaurants located on nearby Peachtree Street or the corner of 10th and Piedmont.
