Cavernous tavern caters to the laid-back leather set with DJ music and clandestine carousing in shadowy corners.. In Short
To really know all that goes on in this lurid locale, you've got to cruise it yourself. This vast tavern features room after room of leather daddies, bears, cubs, otters and other friendly types rubbing shoulders - and each other. The Eagle houses a large bar area, a walled-off dance floor, a cruising hall and several rooms of pool tables, pinball machines and video games. DJs spin a blend of '80s, techno, pop and rock music, and the proprietors host weekly S&M, leather and bear club meetings. Thursday nights feature live go-go boys in various shapes and states of undress, and the dance floor and backroom fill up, as well as on weekends. The Eagle is all the rage for what it lacks: pretty boys and glam girls, over-the-top attitude and raucous drag shows. The truly democratic club plays host to men of all shapes, shades and sizes. Gay guests to the ATL invariably end up here to sample the wicked urban pleasures.

Just a Cheesy Disco Bar. This is no leather bar. You can?t even call it a men?s bar. It?s more like a smoky place where the Paris Hilton fan club meets. The music is fluffy disco. Think the Cowsils to a disco beat. It can be a friendly group except for the bitchy girly boys, but don?t expect to find s*xy healthy men here. When you get tired of hanging around the dance room, you can hang in the pool room and maybe catch a game. There?s a TV set in there that plays some obscure program like fishing, but plays offensive commercials like eharmony. Eharmony discriminates against g*ys.

Recent impression of the Atlanta Eagle. The Atlanta Eagle has changed some over the last few years. I agree with another reviewer here that the ATL Eagle doesn't see as much leather as it used to. There are still some guys in leather, but the atmosphere has changed in recent times. There is more of a mix of folks now, some looking more "twinky" and others just the guy next door. The leather shop downstairs carries considerably less than it used to and there isn't any kind of dress code enforcement in the bar. The people are pretty friendly and most seem content to enjoy the dance floor. When I first started going to this bar they had a St. Andrews cross in the middle of the bar and held frequent demonstrations on flogging, electric stimulation, and so on. You don't see any of that any longer.

To be a little more clear on what's in the bar, there is ONE smallish room with pool tables, another room with some video machines, a couple of back bars, a hallway (which can get interesting), the main bar area and the dance floor. There is a large deck off the upstairs with stairs leading to an even larger deck on the lower level. These are great areas for catching some air when it's summer and the bar heats up inside.

So, while you'll see some leather types here, it's not what I would consider a "hard core" leather bar. You don't need to be afraid to go inside. Check it out - you may have a good time.

Nice Place But it NOT a Leather Bar. The Eagle is a great little whole in the wall bar. There a lot of nice guys and good times BUT it is not a true leather bar (dress code is never enforced-- just look down to see all the white sneakers) A better name for the Eagle might be the great Bear Bar or something similar. Leather is welcome and there are some mighty hot leather clad men on some nights but the Atlanta Eagle is no longer a true leather bar. Out of towners, just be warned-- great place but don't expect a true leather experience.

WOOF! Hot men in Leather. Great place to hang out early into the morning hours. Charlie is one of the nicest bar tenders you could hope to have serve you. Dance the night away to hot DJ's spinning todays best dance music. Watch as men in leather work up a good sweat on the dance floor.

All that glitters.... The crowd is great, but the bar is falling apart. You don't have to be drunk to fall in this dilapidated eyesore. No parking, No seating, No ambience. CrackHo's and dealers surround the place. The owners are pulling down mucho dinero. It's time to invest and move guys...someone else may give this crowd a convenient alternative men's club and they will BOLT!
