The Scene
Sure, getting entertainment with your meal in this town is no problem. But if you crave more interaction with your meal, try Agatha's--A Taste of Mystery, Atlanta's best shot at the dinner-and-a-show routine. The plays take place in the dining room between courses of the five-course meal (which includes a choice of beef, fish or chicken) and shows run approximately three-and-a-half hours.
The Draw
Participate in the evening's fun as much or as little as you choose. You could be the culprit or the victim. Upon arrival, you'll be assigned a role in the evening's comic mystery play. If you're feeling especially extroverted, you can even take a small speaking part.

I went to Agatha's for my friend's birthday dinner. She had made reservations the week before for 10, but told them she wasn't sure how many people would come. They said "No big deal, It's your birthday!" And took her credit card number to hold the reservation. Only 4 people showed up to her party. Which is sad enough on your birthday but then she found out the next day that Agatha's charged her credit card $360 for the 6 people who didn't come!! I called them on her behalf (I thought she shouldn't have to deal with that on her birthday) and the woman was very snippy and said it was just their "policy" and nothing could be done about it. I think it's horrible to take $360 from someone for NOTHING, particularly on their birthday. What a bad way to run a business. I will never go back.

My friend and I were both interested in this sort of dining experience, so I bought us a couple tickets for a weekday showing. One of the actors greeted us at the door, explained roughly how things would go and gave us each our speaking parts. There was a cash bar there and a large spread of appetizers. The seating is more like a large dining hall, but the staff was attentive to our needs. The experience was really unique and both of us had a great time. The food was excellent, served in several courses with complimentary red or white wine a couple times throughout the evening. The actors did a wonderful job of getting the audience to participate. There were people who flopped and some who appeared as if they were auditioning, but everyone seemed to have a good time. If you're open minded, don't mind a couple lines of public speaking and want a full evening of entertainment, drinks and dinner, Agatha's is the placed. We loved it and plan to go back.
