What People Are Saying About Cameli's Pizza
Featured Review

The Scene – With its yard-sale furniture, amateur artwork and stalled DIY renovation projects, this pizzeria wobbles between being bohemian and just plain beat-up. Here, you'll bus your own table and separate your trash. Heck, you can even return your pizza box for recycling. – – The Food – Since nothing else claims the limelight here, the pizza might as well. Thankfully, it does. A step-and-a-half above the local competition, Cameli's serves thin, crispy, ultra-basic pizza. Opt for the plain cheese classic thin or a monster slice and add the homemade Italian sausage.…

AND WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THIS PLACE???
by DSAngel
Maybe it's the fact that its right next to kroger where you can buy your own ingredients and make your own pizza quicker and cheaper. I heard so many great things about this place and I was not impressed. My pie was okay and the monster slice was decent only because it had a FEW tasty toppings.
I don't know why but the server was super slow and I've been a server for years. I don't care if the food takes a long time but just don't let my girlfriend and I's water go empty for so long. I got so sick of waiting for water so I drank hers....twice. The server was friendly but the place only had four tables sat at around 2pm and all were close to each other.
The price was not worth it! I feel that if it were really good I would've finished all my food and then wanted more. However i didn't have time to wait for more let alone did i want any. Oh Fellinis how I'm sorry for doubting you and going to another slice for satisfaction.
I feel guilty for wasting my time and money here. Plus, im normally very patience and understanding since I do serve as well, but something must have slowed her down for her to not at least bring us more water. Well...obviously it's no five star so what can I expect.
Also, it appeared as though one of the employees had their child working...who knows.
The other menu items seemed delicious but i just don't care to go back. Hated this pace just hated it. Never going back.
The only real pizza.

There was a time when i didn't know what real pizza was, and then i found Cameli's. Pizza is a pretty broad category, anything with crust, sauce, and cheese qualifies, but its easy to tell when pizza is better than good.
This place has it down.
The menu is broad, but not confusing. You can choose from 4 different pizza sauces, all more delicious than the last, and the toppings are all quality. All of the crust is thin, but if you want the ultimate in crispy crust, go for one of their massive slices. They renovated the old hole-in-the-wall decor last year sometime, and added a bar. While I admit that i liked the old Cameli's, new cameli's is roomier and has a lot of new options on the menu. The spicy tomato and pancetta pata sauce is worth the trip alone. With the new bar, beer selection has expanded to include several more exotic beers than an average pizza place might carry.
A+ Cameli's!! if i was ever out of town, and had to get a slice somewhere else, your's would be the standard.
- Pros: great food, beautiful women in the kitchen, small brewery beers
- Cons: did you read the pros?
Cameli's is my favorite pizza in Atlanta
by sakemom
I consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur-but I was late in the game checking this place out.
So I have been making up for lost time -I try to go at least once a week.
This truely is the best pizza I have had in Atlanta.
You can get a mini small cheese pizza (great for kids) or a MONSTER cheese slice which is a deal cause it is only a few dollars.
I go for the specialty pies- LOVE the sundred tomato sauce.
Great crust and not greasy..None of the wierd chewy cheese is served here.
Definitely start with a salad-the balsamic dressing & croutons are homemade and addictive.
My son has to leave with a handful of croutons everytime we leave.
He says to tell you they are the "best ever" !
They have trivia and they serve Pimm's. What more could I ask for?
Misleading Review from 1/14
by 4camelistaff
Cameli's is committed to a high quality of customer service. Please don't let that review from 1/14 deter you from coming to the best pizza joint in town. The reviewer from 1/14 was absolutely not present for the incident in question. His super-drunk friend began yelling and screaming that his slice was taking too long. When the manager told him that his food was still in the oven and that he should calm down, the drunk guy started swinging at the manager. Our manager did defend himself and the drunk was forced out of the restaurant with the help of a very good customer of ours. Moral of the story: if you are naturally violent, obnoxious, and drunk as a skunk, please stay at home.
Beware Of Employee's Review--1/22/09
by jasonlgreene
Everything about the drunk incident is true. But what amazes me, an employee of Cameli's writes a review, about my review, and the manager responds poitively. First of all, It's against CitySearch policy for an employee to write a review. The manager didn't respond to my review. After he threw the guy out, why didn't he credit the guys credit card back, since he never received any food. The guy did not attack the manager, he was behind the counter. If the manager wants to dispute this, respond to this posting. I 'masking CitySearch to remove this employees review, plus other one time reviewers, who sound like employees also. On to the food. You want a slice of pizza. Order it, and watch them take it from a pan atop the pizza overn. And yes it's uncovered, and no telling how long it's been sitting there. Wonder what the health-code department thinks about that. And watch your back, when you go out into that parking lot at night. Scary!
- Pros: Terrible Aggressive Staff!
- Cons: Terrible Aggressive Staff! Old Pizza Sitting On Top Oven!
