“This is a great bar with a unique atmosphere and outstanding food.”
“But if your expectations include great food great prices, great drinks, in 15 minutes with a server who will kiss your butt the whole time, you probably shouldn't come here and probably should limit your dining experiences to more upscale establishments.”
“The food here is amazing, and the atmosphere is just as great.”
“Their burgers are awesome along with just about every other thing on the menu.”
“The vortex is the best place in Atlanta to go for burgers.”
“come back again and again because I get GREAT BURGERS, and GREAT DRINKS at VERY DECENT prices!”
“and don't even get me started about their lousy service and all the rudeness that go with it,in the idiot free world of Vortex being rude and mocking your customers for no apparent reason is so COOL!”
“with all the "scary flair" all over the walls and the huge skeleton entryway.”

Skip the triple bypass and just get the Plain Ol' Vortex w/ cheese; it will save your life, and it's still tasty!
Great Food, not great for groups.
I have been to the Vortex many times & the food is always great They serve you quick & efficiently but certainly are not known for their customer service. We did take a group there last night & they aren't very accommodating to large groups. They encouraged us to split up or else we would have to wait for a really long time. I had called in advance & the first time they were very nice & said "no problem" just let us know when you have a firm # of guests. The second time I called they basically said that they wouldn't accommodate us & that we would have to wait just like everyone else. I understand that they do not take reservations, but they did make it seem that would at least try to accommodate us on the first call.
The food is good but do not go here if you have more than 4 or 5 people.
No burger is worth being treated like crapp.... I wouldn't eat here again if my life depended on it. Food was good, but the positive comments end there. A few of my friends and I decided to try Vortex to celebrate a birthday. The waiter was very sarcastic and rude when we asked about items on the menu. We asked for separate checks and we were told it would be no problem. When the bill came, not only did we receive only one check, but the waiter decided to add on an 18% gratuity on the check for himself since it was six people although his service was horrible. Seeing that we didn't think he was worthy of an 18% tip, we asked for and spoke with the manager who told us that the tip was required and that he would call the cops on us if we didn't pay the tip. IT was RIDICULOUS!!! We proceeded to pay because we didn't want to ruin the birthday celebration. The manager took the money and the waiter very rudely said, "It better all be here." DON'T EAT HERE UNLESS YOU ARE OKAY WITH PAYING FOR HORRIBLE SERVICE.
Good late night alternative to Krystals. Well, everything is just average. The prices are cheap, but they should be the food is of cheap quality. The service, well deifinitely below average and quite rude. They make you feel like your bothering them by giving them your money. The place looks cool from the outside but, I tink i'll stick to just walking by from now on. I did used to be better. Not worth my time now.
Great Veggie Burger. I have lived in Atlanta all my life, but for some reason I had never visted The Vortex until today. I had the veggie burger and I think it was probably the best one I have ever had. My friend who I dined with told me she had never even tried a hamburger since the veggie burger was always so good. I chose tater tots as my side and they were crunchy & delicious. Definitely try this place if you are in Atlanta - you won't be disappointed. The location is great in the middle of L5P, so you can do some walking around to loosen the belt buckle back up. One word of caution - don't bring your kids. They allow smoking inside so they won't serve anyone under 18.
No nonsense burger. If you're craving a good, juicy burger and a good beer to go wash it down, Vortex is where you're headed. They have a selection of burgers that are a challenge to devour. Numerous styles and recipes to choose from. Even if you're a vegetarian, they have a veggie burger and even ostrich. Its all good. A huge beer list tops it all. Be careful to pay attention to their rules written on the menu. Service isn't why people come here, so don't expect to be pampered by your server. Its a great place to eat for fun.
YEAH, NO KIDS!!!!!. I absolutely LOVE this place. Just so the previous reviewer knows it was the Georgia Smokefree Air Act of 2005 as to why you have to be at least 18 to enjoy this wonderful place. Outside of the fact I don't have to deal with little rugrats running around the damn place, they have a phenomenal liquor (love all the single malts) and beer selection. The burgers are quite yummy with my favorite being the Ragin Cajun but substitute the bison patty with a side of onion rings. Mmmmm. If you want to enjoy a NO KIDS ALLOWED environment definately go here.
it's pretty good. I've been to The Vortex a couple of times with friends, and I guess this year they stopped allowing minors in. I don't understand why... so that kind of stinks that I can't even go in there anymore! What happened? Was it because of the pictures on the walls? I really enjoyed the food.
Atlanta favorite delivers killer burgers, a serious bar scene and raucous decor..
In Short
Wonderfully subterranean and slightly sinister, this popular Little Five burger joint's large dark rooms and long bar are stocked with retro ads, crazy knick-knacks, and skeletons on motorcycles. Burgers are the big draw: Choose from the Yokohama Mama to the Coronary Bypass, but standards like a classic patty melt or a bacon cheeseburger are the best bets. If red meat isn't your thing, try the turkey reuben or a top-notch veggie burger.
Interesting place. I've lived in atlanta for many years and for some reason have never gotten here before this weekend. My wife and i went there to try the infamous burger. The atmosphere is interesting.. fits in with the rest of little five points. I had the burger and it was pretty good. My wife had a unique fried monte cristo that was ok. but overall it was pretty good. and will probably go back.
Whats all the hype about this joint?. Ok,I've been to this little joint twice and both times had aweful experiences with food and service!!first of all I don't know whats all the madness about their burgers ?lets just say the food is so below average!and don't even get me started about their lousy service and all the rudeness that go with it,in the idiot free world of Vortex being rude and mocking your customers for no apparent reason is so COOL!!
