||||||GREAT FOODS||| GREAT SERVICE||||

by chadreed745 at Citysearch

I've always liked the Planet - but recently i really love the Planet. The spicy vindaloo and creamy saag paneer are awesome. They make a great naan which is perfect to mop up all the sauce with. The service can be a little slow - but that?s because they're usually understaffed and pretty busy - but they're always friendly. For some reason just in the past year their food seems to have gotten much much better. Maybe it's just me... Anyway I like how they don't automatically assume I can't handle spicy food and dumb it down (like most other Atlanta Indian places do) - All the food seems to come out at the perfect heat for me - consistently. It isn't a fancy, high dining restaurant - the decor is a little rough... But the food is great and like many have said previously ? the Bollywood is always bumpin!

Pros: Great Vindaloo - Great Naan - Great fod

Avoid this place

by ranjitatlanta at Citysearch

The food is not at all indian. It is bland and tasteless. Not meant for people from indian sub continent or any one who has tasted even decent indian food.

We went there in a group of 10 and every one left at least half of their meal in the plates.

Please do not try the Chicken Biryani there. it is sweet and the rice has a heavy coat of Rose Water and colors. Excessive use of colors in almost every item ( including Mango Lassi) is another soar point. The plain lassi too had a generous portion of sugar.

We ordered mango pickle and got a bowl of mixed pickles.

The veg salad means onions and slices of tomotoes.

Tandori chicken wings tasted as if it was served from a ready to eat pack.

There is nothing good for vegetarians at all. Chana Masala was useless.

I must say that their website is a trap. After having food, i went there to leave my review comments but was shocked to see that it does not allow any one to put their review. But they do display all candy floss review on their web site.

This is not a place to go if you want to have indian food.

  • Pros: The serving staff
  • Cons: tasteless food. Smells heavily when you enter

Great food, great service! Would definitely go back here.

It was raining pretty hard that day and the nearest parking we found was a lot down the street a bit so we got soaked. That was the only thing that was bad about this dining experience. We walked in to the restaurant, were seated immediately with a smile by a very nice server. It was about 50% filled. We asked for a high chair and it was brought out immediately. Shortly after, he brought out some papadam with an orange hued mint chutney which was very tasty. Our orders were taken as soon as we put our menus back down on the table. I ordered the Paneer Makhni with rice and naan and got to try the Channa Masala and Gobi Bhaji . The food came out hot and fresh and in a timely manner. The naan was very good, fresh and soft. The Channa and Gobi were excellent! I normally don't care for Gobi but the mix of spices made the Gobi delicious. I would order it again. The Paneer Makhni was also good, however was a bit sweeter than I prefer (certain regions in India do like to add a little sugar). Again, the service was fantastic. The server kept our drinks full and was very pleasant. You could tell that he really cared whether we were satisfied or not and we definitely were. I recommend!
