“My friends and I love the food there, and the people we inevitably meet due to the great atmosphere.”
“Nothing stands out, but it's cheap-and-cheerful--a good place for a beer and maybe a b.”
“When I moved to Atlanta everyone told me a great place for Mexican food and a relaxed place is El Azteca on Ponce De Leon.”
“From the outdoor patio, plenty of parking and a huge menu selection!”
“The restaurant really cares about their customers and truly is a great place that I will keep going back to and planning get-togethers at!”
“bad food bad service”

The absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered! but the food is great.
Poor Customer Service, Deceptive business practices!!. use the coupon because we did not have a paper copy. He suggested we come back and bring a coupon the next time. I guess he assumed everything else was that spectacular that we were willing to ignore the obvious deceptive practices they were using as business owners/providers. Although we showed him what was written on their site, he took no ownership because as he stated, he did not manage the page and would not give us the credit. If this is the way they conduct business, I suggest frequenting some of the other Mexican restaurants in town because they obviously do not value their customers or stand behind their OWN word!
Outstanding Mexican food, service and place to hang out!. We love the fajitas so much...it is so hard to decide which ones to get! I typically order the chicken and my husband orders the steak and we share. The cheese dip is to die for and I normally order an extra to go to keep in the fridge. During the last Superbowl we had over a group of people at our place and we brought in El Azteca...it was such a hit! Just like in the restaurant the food was fresh, hot and consistent! From going to the Ponce location and sitting on the patio to the inside dining it is a great place to head to when craving amazing Mexican food and we LOVE the Margaritas. Plenty of parking and a great wait staff are just a few of the many reasons why I keep going back there!
Strong Margaritas, Fast Service. Authentic tex-mex and Mexican food. The cool part about this restaurant is the location and the patio. It's a great place to gather with your friends and get a pitcher of Margarita's and enjoy the view on Ponce. One of the few places in Midtown that doesn't water down their drinks. The food is fresh and served quick. Always a great combo.
Mgmt is awful; Do not eat here!. Or at least don't get delivery from the one on Ponce. A few nights ago, my girlfriend and I ordered delivery... appetizer and two entrees. Estimated delivery time was 45 min at 830P. At the hour mark I called to check on the status to make sure they had all of the information correct. I was told the driver had left 20 minutes prior and was on the way. At the 80 minute mark, the driver called and wanted to confirm my address. He was still 10-15 minutes away. After 10:00P, the food finally arrived. It was cold, soggy, and disgusting. We threw it away. The manager promised that he would credit back my card and to check back in a few days. Today they say they can't do that. When I said I was not going to ever go back to that restaurant, the manager told me to "GO TO HELL." It sure is an odd way to run a business. To be fair, I've never eaten in the restaurant. So, maybe that is a different experience. Based on the manager's behavior, I guess I'll never know.
My Favorite Mexican Spot in ATL. I come here alot so that I can drink margaritas and eat for cheap. So far while living in ATL this place hooks it up on the tequila when it comes to serving margaritas. I usually order a Chimichanga or Nachos and they are really really good. To be fair I don't venture outside of my comfort zone with these items very much, so I might not be the best person to write a food review. but if you do go you can bet your money on the Chimichangas and margaritas.
Great food cheap prices.
I came in around 7:00 looking for a quick meal. The parking lot was a little small, but thats not really an issue. I ordered two of their Kick "A" Margaritas and was a little surprised at how strong it was. I was nearly falling out of my seat halfway through the 2nd margarita so my plans of getting some work done didn't really pan out. I ordered the Burrito Azteca that was quite good. Im happy it was a huge portion because i needed something that would soak up all the alcohol. My only complaint was that it should be spicier but thats the same complaint I make at every restaurant.
My server's name was Marilia and she was pretty cute and very nice. She made sure that i had a very pleasant experience and I'll be sure to sit in her section again next time.
What a wonderful experience!. My wife and two kids ate there last Sunday on our way home from church. This was a perfect choice for us as our bill for the four of us was only $35. I had the Texas Fajitas which were phenomenal, my wife had a chimichanga, and the kids were happy with chicken burritos as well as a cheese dip. The service was courteous and polite and the food came quickly. I will definitely be coming back to El Azteca!
part of the old guard mexican. used to be the place for mexican but has been out done in the fast 5-10 years
BLAND Mexicano.
Terribly bland food.
Are we all forgetting more than one person died due to food from here here?
Many better mexican places in town.
