OMG El Azteca makes my mouth water and my appetite happy!. I Love El Azteca! It is one of my guilty pleasures and I just adore their food! Not to mention their sensational margaritas! I think I have tried just about everything on their menu as I frequent there at least twice a month. some of my favorites: Fajitas, (all of them, steak, chicken, and shrimp) Tostagucs, Chile Rellenos, Burritos (they are a meal in itself) And the tacos are terrific too. Try the soup if you want something light, and the tostados are quite good too, I am not really a salad guy, but the tostados are how I do salad! The cheese dip is addictive and the service is excellente! Why aren't you there right now? I am!
5 Star Food & Great Service is why I keep going back!.
I grew up in San Diego and went to school in Arizona so I know Mexican food! When I moved to Atlanta everyone told me a great place for Mexican food and a relaxed place is El Azteca on Ponce De Leon. I got a group together and this was a wonderful evening!
The portions are huge, the food is hot, fresh and made to order. The service is great and they let you enjoy yourself (not rush you) and have a great time. There is also a bar downstairs that I want to go back to! Our waiter was telling us about it since there is a separate entrance...I thought that was extremely considerate to the restaurant patrons that may not want to deal with the bar. Everyone ordered something different and we ended up sharing our meals. The portions are huge and are such a great value! Someone we went with had food allergies and the waiter was so accommodating to help out to make sure everything was prepared to our specific requests.
The margaritas we were told are the best and they are perfectly blended or are amazing on the rocks. FOREWARNING...the cheese sauce is to die for...this is truly a must. What I loved about this place is everyone makes you feel welcome, the food is great and even the owner stopped by to ask how everything was!
This place is perfect for comfort food. From the outdoor patio, plenty of parking and a huge menu selection! Also another huge plus...I just found out THEY NOW HAVE DELIVERY! The restaurant really cares about their customers and truly is a great place that I will keep going back to and planning get-togethers at!
the food was excellent and felt really authentic.. the food was excellent and felt really authentic. It had a nice atmosphere too and me and my wife had a good time.
Worst service and food in the city. I had went here for a freinds birthday, and was excited, I love Mexican food of any kind. When I got my taco salad it was soggy and had two peices of meet. The margaritas were all sour mix. And good luck getting an order in, in the first place. When it was time to close out the waiter was to busy to close me out. I went to the register to close out after asking him three times and was not serviced again. I finally got to ask the manager to help me and LUIS the server started to curse at me in spanish and threataning to beat me up and ki ll me in spanish. P.S. LUIS I know spanish. So in conclusion If you want poor service and bad food and possibly a fight with the staff go visit this place!
tacos and cheese dip good!. This place is my old standby. Consistently good food and service. Margaritas are not the best and I wish they had some decent guac. The patio is just okay.
Best Fajitas. I love it!! Best Fajita's and Texas Margaritas in existence! Great patio! The service is always crisp and courteous. The best thing is when you've ordered a pitcher of Texas margaritas and you've downed the first one and snacked on some chips and salsa. Hunger hits and then the clouds break and here comes the waiter with a sizzling skillet of Texas fajitas. The iron skillet is overflowing with shrimp, chicken and steak all smothered in green peppers and onions. This usually draws the eye of everyone within a few tables who wonder why they didn't order the fajitas. But when it hits the table the sight and smell are a delightful. If you are on a first date fellas she will be impressed. That and a pitcher of Texas margaritas works every time!!!! I have to have it at least a couple of times a month.
Avoid on Friday nights/Horrible parking. I enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere... The problem the rude patrons downstairs blocking the exit. The drive is a one way... Why is the exit blocked? Why are there patrons drinking outside and blocking the exit? I will not waste my money at this place again.
Good Mexican, Great Patio. I went to El Azteca last Sat afternoon with a friend and we dined on the patio. She had a steak quesadilla and commented on how good the steak tasted. I had a vegetarian quesadilla and it tasted just as good as other Mexican restaurants. The patio is great and all the umbrellas offer shade from the hot sun. The service was good and prices cheap. I'd give it a try!
Bring your barfbag.. The copious amount of margaritas being served explains the decent food rankings. I don't care about the service. I'm not interested in the ambience. I just want to know that I will be able to hold down the food that I order. The chicken fajitas are shockingly bad. We all like nice patios, but I just don't think the trade-off is worthwile.
Mmm mmm Good. When I went I got the fajita plate for me and my fiance and it was great. First of all it was enough for at least three people. Second it was packed with scrumptious shrimp, tender steak, and perfectly seasoned chicken. The onions and bell peppers were cooked perfectly. They include homemade guacamole, beans, rice, and three fluffy flour tortillas.
