What People Are Saying About El Azteca

In Short – The only things remotely Mexican about this popular spot are its Corona beer posters and its Nortena polkas. During the warmer months, this cantina becomes a roaring party courtesy of its substantial front patio. Fast, friendly and consistent, El Azteca pumps out all the enchiladas, chalupas and burritos you'd expect. Stick to the bulletproof Americanized favorites, including the combination dinner with its hard-shell taco, cumin-laced ground beef enchilada and molten chile relleno.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- A mandatory rite of spring for intowners, frozen margaritas somehow taste better when consumed a few short yards from busy Ponce. In addition to a single glass, you can get margaritas in several varieties from in 12oz size to 60 oz.
- What to Eat:
- Try entrees from the Chef's Best category, like fish tacos or the variety of fajitas; all are served with a soup and salad.
- The Extras:
- Sign up online for the El Azteca Azpress email list to be notified of special events, promos and e-coupons for restaurant discounts.

Poor Customer Service, Deceptive business practices!!
by DSLL
use the coupon because we did not have a paper copy. He suggested we come back and bring a coupon the next time. I guess he assumed everything else was that spectacular that we were willing to ignore the obvious deceptive practices they were using as business owners/providers. Although we showed him what was written on their site, he took no ownership because as he stated, he did not manage the page and would not give us the credit. If this is the way they conduct business, I suggest frequenting some of the other Mexican restaurants in town because they obviously do not value their customers or stand behind their OWN word!
Outstanding Mexican food, service and place to hang out!

We love the fajitas so much...it is so hard to decide which ones to get! I typically order the chicken and my husband orders the steak and we share. The cheese dip is to die for and I normally order an extra to go to keep in the fridge. During the last Superbowl we had over a group of people at our place and we brought in El Azteca...it was such a hit! Just like in the restaurant the food was fresh, hot and consistent! From going to the Ponce location and sitting on the patio to the inside dining it is a great place to head to when craving amazing Mexican food and we LOVE the Margaritas. Plenty of parking and a great wait staff are just a few of the many reasons why I keep going back there!
Strong Margaritas, Fast Service

Authentic tex-mex and Mexican food. The cool part about this restaurant is the location and the patio. It's a great place to gather with your friends and get a pitcher of Margarita's and enjoy the view on Ponce. One of the few places in Midtown that doesn't water down their drinks. The food is fresh and served quick. Always a great combo.
Mgmt is awful; Do not eat here!

Or at least don't get delivery from the one on Ponce. A few nights ago, my girlfriend and I ordered delivery... appetizer and two entrees. Estimated delivery time was 45 min at 830P. At the hour mark I called to check on the status to make sure they had all of the information correct. I was told the driver had left 20 minutes prior and was on the way. At the 80 minute mark, the driver called and wanted to confirm my address. He was still 10-15 minutes away. After 10:00P, the food finally arrived. It was cold, soggy, and disgusting. We threw it away. The manager promised that he would credit back my card and to check back in a few days. Today they say they can't do that. When I said I was not going to ever go back to that restaurant, the manager told me to "GO TO HELL." It sure is an odd way to run a business. To be fair, I've never eaten in the restaurant. So, maybe that is a different experience. Based on the manager's behavior, I guess I'll never know.
- Pros: NA
- Cons: Staff is rude, food is disgusting
My Favorite Mexican Spot in ATL
by BabyNoog
I come here alot so that I can drink margaritas and eat for cheap. So far while living in ATL this place hooks it up on the tequila when it comes to serving margaritas. I usually order a Chimichanga or Nachos and they are really really good. To be fair I don't venture outside of my comfort zone with these items very much, so I might not be the best person to write a food review. but if you do go you can bet your money on the Chimichangas and margaritas.
- Pros: Margarita!!
- Cons: Parking Lot
