Atlanta's best vegetarian - very special place! – This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta! I constantly test that theory, but the food is so great that when I ask myself which restaurant I'd most miss if I left Atlanta, SV always "wins."
I'm not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy vegetarian and vegan cuisine quite a bit. The food at SV is fantastic and the service is given with a genuine kindness that can not be mistaken.
My favorite is a dinner plate with BBQ kalebone steak, perfectly cooked brocolli, the world's best mac&cheese (even if it is mock cheese!) and a side of corn bread.
After every meal I eat there, without fail, I come away feeling warm and wonderful. There's something really special about the food.
BEST ONION RINGS EVERRRR – even though they give me gas. Best vegetarian restaurant in atlanta. The only bad thing i have to say about it is that the servers are on the phone all the time but that doesnt seem to affect service.
a food paradise – I am absolutely blown away by some of the reviews on here. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The food is fresh, feels healthy and satisfying, and on top of it tastes incredible! The staff is awesome and I frequently have long conversations with them when I go in. I've even been offered a warm hug when i was having an obviously bad day. I've been vegan for years, but also take in friends who are not, and they all love it as well. I have turned numerous friends into huge fans of the restaurant and they rave about the food just as much as I do. I highly recommend this restuarant. I have yet to leave unsatisfied with the amazing cuisine.
Heart Healthy Soul Food?!? – This is definitely among my top two favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The food is prepared with high quality ingredients and taste wonderful! In addition, the restaurant DOES NOT use any hydrogenated oils in the food preparation process. My other favorite restaurant is Lush Restaurant.
People give this place a bad rap – This restaurant is not as bad as people are saying in these reviews. The food is quite good, even though the service can be slow. There aren't many places where you can get good vegan food, and this place is definitely a good one to try out. Don't be deterred by the negative, entitled folk who have already given reviews.
EXTREMELY SLOW! – I've wanted to try this place for a while and was very disappointed. I waited patiently (and politely) for 30 MINUTES. I ordered a sandwich and shake to go. There were 4 customers in the restaurant and one server. I should have been out of there in 15 minutes. I cook meat substitutes all the time at home and it's full of flavor. There was no taste whatsoever, only too much mayo. I tasted my food and then threw it in the trash. The server forgot my shake. I said forget it.
terrible experience, will never go back – After hearing such great things about this place my best friend and I were eager to try it out. The food was dismal, the service terrible, and the place reeked of bleach. We tried to return our food, but the staff absolutely ignored us. We seriously considered walking out while waiting over a half hour for our food - and we were the only ones there. One of the worst dining experiences of my life.
Nutritious soul food served with a side of serenity in Poncey-Highland. – The Scene
The vegetarian eatery is outfitted with red vinyl booths, bar stools, an ice cream counter and be-robed servers. Soul Vegetarian does its best to do the soul-food thing, but declares "little or no" fat is used in preparation. Sink your teeth into meat and three (read: soy protein, or "kale bone"). Or a "burger," hold the mayo, with a side of rings. Wash it all down with one of Soul's signature soy shakes.
Don't do it! – This was the worst vegetarian food I have ever had. It was so bland! And the only possibly bright spot on the menu (macaroni and cheese)...they ran out of it! I think the fact that everyone goes in looking for good vegetarian and ends up ordering macaroni and cheese says a great deal about the menu selection. Save your money! Go somewhere else!
