In Short
If you're looking for a live music venue that regularly showcases multinational indie talent, it's hard to beat the Roxy. The multitude of autographed memorabilia in the lobby and bar attests to the venue's staying power. The intimate 1,200-person, smoke-free black box hall is a great space for seeing large acts who want to play an in-demand show or local favorites that are on-the-rise. Downstairs, an open floor offers standing room, while the balcony (occasionally reserved for VIPs) features reclining seats. The Roxy is the last stop on the relatively intimate Atlanta mid-sized circuit, along with the Tabernacle or Center Stage. Acts such as Bob Dylan and the Cure have used the venue to reconnect, while artists such as Kings of Leon have offered one last pre-arena performance. Proximity to Buckhead's revamped bar and restaurant scene means the night doesn't have to end when the show does.

When I arrived to see Down last night I was impressed with the venue. The staff was not very friendly once you got in you had to deal with the rude staff on the main bar as well as the line that really didn't have to happen...this was due to a very non attentive bar staff. Instead of greeting you with a smile it was a scowl. Oh well.... The search at the door by security was a bit much...They felt ever part of your body! The look inside was awesome as well as the sound. The Balcony was a great place to sit for a few but the party was downstairs . Very large area to squeeze the party goers and great views of the stage were everywhere. The parking situation was terrible. Expect to pay $20.00 up close or take a short walk to Dominoes and pay $5.00...Your choice.....Anyway my overall trip to The Roxy Theater was a very good one. I plan to make many more trips from Nashville to see the great lineup of Metal Shows that are coming through there. It is definitely a don't miss in Atlanta!!!

The Roxy is a great place to see a show its an old theatre that has been converted to a music venue. The only problems I have with this venue is parking which is tough but if you look you can find it and the staff is quite rude. I nominate the red 40 something bartender at the main bar as rudest bartender in Atlanta this woman was downright rude. Luckily there is a back bar area loaded with musical memorabilia and a much more attentive staff. So in closing when you go to the Roxy avoid the main bar and go to the back bar.
