Best of the Best!

Harry's been cutting my hair now for almost 14 years. It's interesting how you get to know someone who you see for about an hour on a quarterly basis. Quick math - 56 hrs over 14 yrs which is essentially one 40 hr work week w/ overtime. Doesn't really seem like a lot of time but I think I know him better than people that I've worked with on a daily basis over the same 14 years.

First, it goes without saying, the man can cut a mean "do" and second, he's going to give you the best of everything in his professional arsenal which includes excellent recommendations for colorists (Armond is the bomb!) and subject matter expertise on everything from products to blow drying techniques. But what I think truly differentiates him from so many, is that he's willing to share his professional knowledge not only with his clients but with his peers & his assistants. It's one thing to be highly proficient in your job but it's quite another to simultaneously take the time to develop, invest in & bring out the best in others.

I was having a bad day on my last visit. I was interviewing for a new job & I was beyond frustrated. Harry's assistant Sal (whom I was meeting for the first time) could see that I was under stress; he was kind, caring and empathetic. Let's face it, your stylist & his team can become so much more to you over time and sometimes we don't even realize it. Confidence building was underway.

I had another appointment today. As is the norm, Harry gave me a terrific cut. I'm more than ready for the next job interview however, I must say Sal laid the groundwork at the last appointment. It will be very hard to leave this winning combo if the job offer requires a relo!

Best Colorist!

I have been going to Van Michael salons since 1997 and have never had a bad haircut or color experience. The BEST, however, is Lauren for color. She is excellent at what she does. I have been seeing her for a couple of years, and she is always striving to improve her technique and skills. I find it hard to believe, but my hair is prettier and prettier each time I go to see her. I often have people stop me in public to ask me who does my hair color - I get compliments all the time - all thanks to Lauren!!

Harry is Amazing!!

I'll admit that I was slightly worried when Harry moved from Sandy Springs to Buckhead, but after 14 years in this relationship, a new location was not going to get in my way!!

As it turns out, Buckhead is just as welcoming as Sandy Springs, and with better shampoo chairs! (They help you get horizontal, to minimize stress on your neck- plus they massage!) Another plus- VM Buckhead is located in the same center as Whole Foods, for a one stop shopping day.

Back to the important stuff- Harry Wood is an amazing stylist, as evidenced by my loyalty for the past 14 years. His cuts are never short of spectacular, and his attention to detail is obvious. I tell my kids he has magic scissors, and they believe it. He makes me feel beautiful every time I'm there. If only my hair grew faster... He has an IPAD with lots of different styles at the ready, in case you are undecided. Ask, and you shall receive. He is simply the best.

I also love that VM is an Aveda salon, which means the product is environmentally friendly and also kind to your hair.

I have been going to Harry Wood for the past six months.I absolutely think he is the best stylist I have ever been to.I have very fine ,straight hair and all of my friends and family claim my hair looks the best it has ever looked.I love Harry he makes you feel that you are his only client .A great haircut makes you feel good about yourself and that is life changing. He is the Master.My husband thinks so too .I would recomend

Brandon is Brilliant!

I'm sure Brandon needs no introduction, nor does he need anymore reviews on this site as he is quite well known and a BRILLIANT stylist. He has over 20 years in the field and is also an artistic director so he travels the country training other Aveda salons, including Planet Salon in Beverly Hills. I have wavy red hair and have learned many a painful hair lessons throughout my 31 years on earth. The botch job I received before going to Brandon was my very, very last lesson in thrifty hairdressing. I will never again put myself through excruciating days of guilt, remorse, and putting life on hold while I hide out due to a bad haircut.... there's just something about a wrecked hairstyle that can break your whole spirit. Its too much of a risk, seeing as how we are all, well... expected to function in this world with a certain level of confidence :-)

Brandon's work was pure perfection. He laid down the reality of the situation, I stopped hanging onto false hope of saving the length, and we stepped confidently through acceptance and onto glorious hair redemption together!

I also want to give a mad shout out to his wonderful assistant/apprentice! She was the kindest, sweetest, most endearing person I've met in a while! I profess to be somewhat "enlightened" as I'm studying to be an spiritual teacher/inspirational speaker, but let me just get real here: there is no rising above a bad haircut sometimes. LOL. No matter how enlightened you are. I was having a hard time with the fact that the previous stylist had mutilated aura -really clinging to woe - and Brandon's assistant humbly stood in her power to listen with compassion and relate on my terms with me. She was a great contrast to my "acting out" that day and I totally appreciated her presence and grace! I really needed that. Thank you soooo much and I am sooo sorry I forgot your name!!!!

Go here if you are new in town. Do not bother "sampling" or playing around with trying to save money. Hair is just kind of important and that is not a shallow thing - its part of who we are. Be grateful you have hair, then honor yourself by treating it well.
