“needed to find a quality stylist at a good price who was reliable and professional.”
“recently went from long hair to VERY short hair due to damage from the worst cut and color I have ever had from a stylist at Aura Hair and Makeup in Roswell, Georgia.”
receptionist is soo rude. I will never attend this salon again mainly because of the horrible customer service I received from the receptionist and stylist there. When I called for the appointment, the receptionist was incredible rude and short with me. She didn't deliver a welcoming line, such as "welcome to so-and-so salon, how can I help you today" she just said "Richie Aprino salon" in a way that was tense, trite, and offense. You could tell she did not want me or herself to be there. She did not tell me who my appointment was with and ask if there was anything else she could help me with. Instead, she quickly hung up the phone on me and I had to call back for the most basic information! When I arrived at the salon, she also did not welcome me to the salon or offer me any sort of assistance or if I needed anything to make my first-time visit more comfortable such as a drink. She looked at me as if I was a burden on her. Karen also did not mention that the deep-conditioning treatment and toner would cost an additional $25 dollars to my service which is ridiculous because I receive those for free at other salons so I was forcecd to pay for that. I think the toner actually made my hair darker and she did not tell me it would and I hate dark blonde hair! I did get a good haircut, but she critized my previous one. When I paid, the receptinoist double-charged me on my credit card bill and was not apologetic, didn't accept responsibilty, and blamed it on the poor credit card machine they have (well, if the machine is so messed up you should get a new one). Instead, she almost yelled at me for telling her I was not happy about that. When I called the salon a few days later telling her the second charge she did not go away on my bank statement, she did not bother to apologize and made excuses and quickly hung up on me again. This was a $100 dollar charge. As a result, my debit card was in the negatives so I could not charge anything on it for a few days and I needed to make errands and it delayed me in doing so. I am starting a blog on Atlanta salons, and I will for sure mention this horrible experience and lack of customer service. If you want to feel relaxed and pampered, do not attend this one. I am surprised the owner has done so many celebrities because the salon is pretty poor in my opinion. If I was a celebrity or not, I would not return here. The owner needs to get rid of the lady at the front desk ASAP because customers can get offended by that and not return. I think I should get a refund for my visit.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!SO SORRY YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE.. JUDGING FROM YHE OTHER 50 FABULOUS REVIEWS.. LOOKS LIKE A MIS COMMUNICATION TO ME , IM JUST SAYIN,,,,,,
Greg is the BEST!.
Greg is GREAT at cutting hair, but most of all, he is a great communicator! His number one goal is to make sure he gives you what you want. He will take the time to figure out what you are going for and has the ability and confidence to pull it off.
I had been bouncing between stylists and was having such a hard time committing to someone. Someone would seem great at first, but they would taper off and become inconsistent or not listen at all! Every time I go to Greg, I leave feeling completely satisfied and like I got what I wanted. He doesn't judge you at ALL. Sometimes stylists make you feel like you have to get some rock star funky cut to be interesting; Greg could care less about that! He has the perfect balance of finding out what you want, but also has a natural sense of what cut works for you.
It is obvious that Greg is a confident and experienced hairstylist, and best of all he's HONEST!
Best Haircut EVER!. I recently went from long hair to VERY short hair due to damage from the worst cut and color I have ever had from a stylist at Aura Hair and Makeup in Roswell, Georgia. I have been in search of a hair stylist that could make me look hip with my new short locks. Not only did Richie rock my hair and I walked out of the salon looking like I stepped out of a magazine but it was the most friendly and comfortable salon environment I have ever experienced! I can assure you that I will never trust my hair to anyone else. Now I understand why Richie Arpino Salon was voted "Best Haircut In Atlanta" by Allure Magazine and celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Darryl Hannah, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Tilly, Melissa Ethridge, Carol Alt, Lesley Ann Warren, Queen Noor of Jordan, Nikki Taylor, Andie McDowell, Helena Bonham Carter, Kevin Costner, and the rock group Collective Soul have all entrusted their individual "looks" into the capable hands of RAS. One visit to this salon and I bet you will be hooked too!
Greg is the best!. I've been in Australia studying for the past few months and have refused to let anyone touch my highlights until I returned home to Atlanta. After an appointment with Greg yesterday, the wait was well worth it. My hair color looks beautiful and I could not be more pleased. Greg is definitely a gifted stylist who never disappoints. Even my father, who rarely notices these types of things, complimented me on my hair yesterday. Obviously, Greg is very talented and fun making my appointments at Richie Arpino’s always a very a pleasant experience!!
Greg Harris is the best!.
I've been going to Greg now for at least 10 years. I've been through a number of hairstyles since he's been my hair stylist and there's not a week that goes by where someone has not complimented me on my cut, color or overall style.
As a young cancer survivor, Greg was there to support me during my cancer diagnosis and worked with me to get the best style possible as my hair came back from the awkward growth following chemotherapy treatments.
Greg does a fine job coloring and gives outstanding cuts. He listens to what I want and we've experimented over the years to try new things but always kept the professional appearance that my career in media demands.
Lastly, Greg works for the client. He knows and appreciates this and in such he does not make it all about him as many other self-centered hairstylists I've run into over the years. He truly cares about his customers and wants them to be happy with the end results.
My highest compliments to Greg and I'm happy there is a forum for which I can publicly recognize him.
Perfect every time! Diana rocks!. Diana has been doing my hair for about 4 years now and I am a former platform artist as well as a master colorist for 27 years and I am so picky! She does exceptional work!
Greg is amazing!.
I have been going to Greg for 26 years. I even found a way to return to Atlanta to see him when I moved to Los Angeles for three years because I could trust the results would always be 100% right for me. His ability to create a color and cut for me through out the seasons of my career, life, and marital status have kept me feeling young, sophisticated, and beautiful! I know that I will leave an appointment with him feeling better than when I arrived! He's the best!
P.S. I get tons of compliments on several of my handbags that Rachel sells at the shop! I enjoy the atmosphere and all the stylists and Winnie and Gloria are awesome, too!
Diana is fabulous!.
Diana is one of the best stylists I've had! She listens to what you want and offers great suggestions.
I have recommended her to several people and they have all been very happy with her work too!
I would highly recommend going to Diana!
GREG at Richie Arpino is the BEST!. Greg at Richie Arpino is the absolute best stylist in Atlanta!!!.He has been hi lighting my hair for years along with all the ladies in my family. He does great color for people of all ages( he does my mother's hilites as well) and a lot of my friends in their twenties go to him too. He listens to you well and is very creative! He did all my hair styling for prom's etc in high school and did a good job with those too. Not only is he a great hair stylist but he is one of the most fun people to be around. I highly reccomend him to people in their 20's,30's,40's,50's and up! Richie Arpino salon is a wonderful boutique salon right near Whole Foods/St. Regis in Buckhead. And on top of that a lot of big time names from Atlanta chose Arpino salon to get their hair done. Thanks Greg for all the wonderful years of doing my color! You are the GREATEST!
Efficient, Reasonably Priced, Quality Cut & Color.
I'm a recovering boutique salon client... have been to most of the chic places in town and ended up orphaned more than once due to hairdresser turnover, general salon drama and/or hairdresser dr&g issues. I needed to find a quality stylist at a good price who was reliable and professional.
Luckily I found Diana, whom I've seen now twice and highly recommend. I had a small hair catastrophe that needed fixing and she figured it out quickly and with ease. Before finding her I was relatively happy at a salon on the west side of town, but the cost was twice as much, and it took the stylist 3+ hours to do what Diana can do in less than 2. It's a no brainer - she's the best gig going in town.
