“This place is a breath of fresh air for me.”
“This is by far the best comic book store in the ATL area.”
“Sure I go here when I here of a sale, or I've given up trying to find things elsewhere, but i definatly don't go for the great service, I hads a pull list with them once but they acted so put out if you needed help, or just wanted to chat that I canceled ”
“They are a great source for hard-to-find or obscure comic-related items and prices are generally reasonable for collectibles.”
Best Comic Store in ATL. This is by far the best comic book store in the ATL area. I shop at Oxford on a weekly basis and the staff is GREAT. The environment is very friendly and organized, the prices are also very fair. If you're looking for a great small business, this is it.
You would be a fool to shop for comic's anywhere else!. The shop has everything; atmosphere, collectibles, old comics, new comics, toys, American videos, Japanese videos. It's also a very well organized store which is a rarity when it comes to comic shops. You must shop here!
Even non-geeks will feel comfortable in this pop-culture junkie's paradise..
The Scene
Banish from your mind all images of the dingy, scary comic book shop on "The Simpsons." Oxford's spacious digs are clean and inviting, although the layout creates a few narrow passages that get tight during peak hours. The staff is mostly amiable, with a couple of intimidating, dour-faced exceptions.
The Goods
Looking for a coffee mug in the shape of a "Star Wars" character? Vintage B-movie posters? "Sopranos" shot glasses? They're all here. Oxford is a virtual cornucopia of kitsch, overflowing with "Crouching Tiger" action figures, "Buffy" sculptures and such goofy memorabilia as "Futurama" wall clocks. DVDs of sci-fi, horror and Japanese anime flicks are available for rent. T-shirts, comic boxes and role-playing game accessories cater to the fanatics. As for comics? Tons of them, from the newest releases to cordoned-off "adult" material and rows of paperback collections.
