The Scene – Located on the fourth level of Buckhead's East Village Square, this softly lit club reflects its Dominican ownership with spicy salsa and tantalizing cigar smoke. Thursday through Saturday, the turquoise walls of this charged cantina rhythmically pulse with the sounds of live and DJ-spun Latin rhythms. Fans slowly turn overhead, but more air circulates from the gyrations on the perpetually packed dance floor. If you need a drink, hit one of the main room's tiled bars. – – The Draw – The Havana Club is the Buckhead spot more about shaking your hips than…

Parking:
If you find parking on the street is free, but if you are unlucky in life like myself is $10.00.
The Service:
Ay, Ay, Ay?Outrageously Dreadful!
?May I have a Cuban Mojito, Please??
?3 minutes later
Bartender: ?I can?t find the sugar.?
?Okay, let me have a hypnotic?
Okay so, no Cuban mojito in the Havana Club was not the demoralizing part, this girl was gone for two minutes and we were the only ones at the bar, she made no effort to find the essential ingredient for this concoction and did not even apologize. Stupid me gave her a tip anyway. I noticed there were no chairs at the bar. I thought that it may be just another irrational city law, but poor me decided to ask the same enthusiastic, eager to work bartender. She replied: ?No chairs are allowed at the bar, because is the bar, so no chairs are allowed.? I asked Einstein, where we could sit, since the tables were reserved. She pointed out in front of the bar by the piece of wood sticking out of the wall. ??But there are no chairs there either?. Bartender: ?Well, what do you want me to do??
Other Turn Offs:
The seat cover of my toilet is more spacious than the dance floor.
Ambiance: This establishment truly captures the essence of Havana, specially the elongated stairs that lead to the balcony and the entrance. The live band sounded pretty good, unfortunately I only heard their practice because due to the mojito incident we were morally forced to leave early.
Warning:
This club will change locations in September. Hopefully they?ll change their staff as well.
Final Thoughts:
On a final note, based on what I observed, the location and comments from my colleagues, Havana Club is for the non-Latino, Dancing with the Stars viewer audience that does not know any better.
- Pros: atmosphere, live music
- Cons: horrible, unfriendly customer service

Good Club/Bad Smoke
by gfitz1999
If you're a serious salsa dancer, get there early - like 10:00PM. That way you can at least have enough room to dance for an hour or so. Because after 11:00pm it starts to get crazy crowded in there. The place does have a magical ambiance about it that generates a fun time. The last time I was there I got into one of those salsa "zones" where I was dancing non-stop. Then I noticed they were cutting on the lights and I said to myself, "What's going own, why are they cutting on the lights?" I asked that waitress, "What's going on?" She said the place was getting ready to close! I had danced 4 straight hours and didn't realize it! Did I have a good time or what?
As everyone has said, the cigar and cigarette smoke is BAD!!!! Havana Club owner could at least invest in a good ventilation system! Many of my friends don't come there because of the smoke. I normally leave before it gets smoky! Invest some of your profits in a decent ventilation system. Not only your customers, but think about your employees and their health!!!!
I've been going to Havana for about 8 years, and I miss the mural of a scene from Havana that was painted behind the band area. It heavily added to that "Havana" atmosphere and sent out positive vibes. Please repaint it!
- Pros: friendly people, good band, good sound system
- Cons: cigar smoke, bad ventilation, small dance floor
