What People Are Saying About New Yorker Marketplace & Deli

The Scene – This bright, lively deli features an appealing display case, Big Apple memorabilia and a small seating area. During the busy lunch hour, it's a hotbed of New York transplants and Buckhead locals. Service in this mom-and-pop shop is fast, personal and extremely friendly. – – The Food – This modern deli builds large, well-prepared sandwiches from high quality ingredients. You won't find a dud among the 38-odd offerings, all of which are flat-grilled to order. Top marks go to the Turkey Rachel (thousand island dressing, red cabbage slaw), the East Coast Roast…
Editor's Tips
- Save Money:
- All sandwiches are mercifully offered in half portions.
- Save Time:
- Lunch can be quite busy. Miss the wait and call or fax your order in ahead of time.
- Where to Sit:
- Get your sandwich to go and take it to nearby Frankie Allen Park (east on Pharr Road to Bagley Street).

New Yorker Marketplace & Deli is Extremly Dirty
by isaveulife
We went there for the 1st time. My wife has been there before. It appeared dirty as we walked in. I asked to sample one of the meats and the waiter acted as if it was a major inconvenience. I ordered the turkey pastrami which was supposed to be 1/2 pound.
We sat down in front of a fish case. The fish was on ice but the case was very warm. The salad case was even warmer, not to mention the glass was nasty looking. Our food came and my sandwich, I estimate, was about 1/4 pound. It didn't even cover the bread.
As we ate. I looked for a health certificate. I could find none!! the straws are opened and in a open tray so everyone reaches in with their uncleaned hands and gets them, GROSS. no sanitation could be found. it also was about 90 degrees in the place.
I will not go back and do not understand how anyone could reccommend this nasty place!!!! They used to get awards but I am sure the quality is GONE!
- Pros: none
- Cons: very dirty doesn't give the amounts stated on menu
Great food but DIRTY
by lorie8888
I hadn't been to the New Yorker in a few years and my husband and I decided to in for sandwiches. While our sandwiches were delicious, we were pretty disgusted by the looks of the place. The chairs were filthy and the tables and floor weren't much better. The case which holds the meet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Makes me wonder- if the owners have no concern for what customers see in the front, what's the food prep area like? Hmmm....
- Pros: Really good sandwiches
- Cons: Dirty!
Home away from home!!!!

Great place to eat!!! I have been living here for 1 year after moving from CT. I really miss good old Jewish Deli after being spoiled with NY influenced deli in CT. I have finally found my fix. My sister and I went today and it was fantastic. She had the turkey pastrami and I had the fresh mozz sandwich (sort of like a caprese). Delicious! I brought a turkey pastrami to my husband, who is from Brooklyn and he melted at our kitchen table. This place is wonderful, worth the money!! I will be back. If I could give it more stars, I would!
- Pros: Great food, Great Service
- Cons: I have to drive 30 mins to get there :(
SIMPLY THE BEST
by Erikee24
Amazing little deli with fresh seafood. We live 2 hours away and will drive into town to buy our seafood from this shop. Every large party or gathering our guests rave at the taste of the food. I Believe me simply unbelievable! This place is a must try, but watch out you will get hooked!
- Pros: FRESH, FRESH, and Delicous!!
- Cons: if any parking
Best Sandwich in Town
by atlanta_lawyer
This deli has the best sandwich in town - the Cubano. I've eaten every cuban sandwich you can find, including at the Havana Sandwich Shop, and the Cuban at The New Yorker Deli is not only the best Cuban in town, but the best sandwich in town. The pork is marinated in something so that it is juicy and ridiculously flavorful. In addition to the mustard, there's some other sauce that they put on the sandwich that makes it even richer and more delicious. I've literally had this sandwich 50 times, and every time it is perfectly the same. My mouth is writing just writing this.
- Pros: The sanwiches cannot be beat
- Cons: Seating is limited, but you can usually find somewhere to sit
