“The service was bad and the food was overpriced.”
“wrote a page long letter to the owner detailing our horrible experience but naturally I never heard anything back.”
Incredible bistec fiorentina here! The pork chop is aso a good option with a nice glass of Barolo.
Cute place to get Italian food. Love the pasta here and everytime I go I manage to have an A-lister spotting.
A-Lister Hang Out. This quaint House from the 20's located in Buckhead hosts Hollywood A-listers and Top Executives from all over. I saw Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher on thier 3rd trip to antica posta in a week. Tom Seleck is a regular, as well as most of the CNN executives and Anchors, Just to mention a few. This is a great Atlanta secret that takes the Atliens across to the Atlantic to a house in Tuscany where they get the best of home cooked Italian Meals. I have also heard of Jermain Dupree and Janet Jackson frequenting there. Wine list is amazing. Reserves by the glass include Luce and Tignanello. Everything from the Ravioli with tuscan meat sauce to the Gellatos and Sorbettos are made by this team of outstanding Italian Chefs lead by the Owners Brother Chef Alessandro.
Won't be back.
Terrible service. 2 and 1/2 hours for dinner. No desert. Waiter did not come back after entree was delivered. Food was bad, bad bad. When we spoke to the owner he basically said Sorry but too bad,Very pompous.
I doubt they will be there long. Most uncomfortable chairs on earth.
Great food - but was offended. I dine here from time to time, as the food is well worth it. But I have to agree with some other reviewers' comments regarding the owner. My first experience here was several years back on a date. My date was in the restaurant business and friends with the owner. The owner sat to chat with us for a while...and, well, here's a little history. Much like there's a bit of a yankee versus southern "red" battle here in the US (the site won't let me type red .n.e.c.k.), there's a north versus south issue in Italy. Upon learning that my family is from southern Italy, the owner essentially scoffed at me as if I were red. That said...food is great - owner has no class.
Delicious Tuscan Dining. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Antica Posta last night and could not be more satisfied with our restaurant selection. We started off with the seared scallop appetizer. While I am not generally a fan of scallops these were delicous with a lightly crisped outside and great flavor. For my entree I selected the appetizer portion of the spinach and cheese ravioli with tomato sauce (substituted for the meat sauce)and the small plate of the baked sea bass. Both the ravioli and the fresh tomato sauce were wonderful and left me wishing that I had gotten the dinner portion; however, when my sea bass arrived and I took the first bite I quickly forgot about the ravioli. The fish was cooked just right, the seasonings were perfect and it sat atop a bed of spinach cooked with onion and tomato which was a great match for the fish. Perfection! At the recomendation of the waiter my husband ordered the veal chop. He could not stop raving over how tender it was. I am not usually a fan of veal but tasted a bite of his and definitely had to agree that it was top notch. Very tender and the flavor was great. To finish the meal the hostess surprised us with an anniversary dessert and lemoncino. I realize service can differ by the night, but I have to disagree with the ratings posted recently about poor service. From the hostess to the waiter to our server, everyone was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be returning to Antica Posta.
Owner Is a total loser-awfull in the food. The owner ruins the place. Stay away at all cost. The food is so so. The atmosphere is way to quite for an Italian place. Italians are fun loving happy people. This place would do much better as a uptight French restaurant. After eating there we walked across the street and had the bar staff confirm that we were not the only ones that think the owner makes it a point of being a complete not very nice guy.
Lovely atmosphere/Great Wines/As Authentic as Tuscan Food gets without being in Italy.
The remodelled house gives the place a very cozy atmosphere much like you would find in a restaurant in Tuscany. The wine list is a little overwhelming but the staff are very helpful in selecting the right pairing for your meal. The food is well above average although true Tuscan food can only be experienced in Tuscany due to the focus on fresh meats and vegetables which is near impossible in an urban area. The Osso Buco was more like Goulash but I am very picky when it comes to the dish due to my extraordinary ability to cook it myself.
Would definitely recommend
Worse Restaurant. The service was bad and the food was overpriced. It is amazing to see their previous rating. I am very disappointed.
Great Italian. I had some of the best Italian food in the city here. The atmosphere is very romantic. The food isn't cheap but it's definitely worth it. The owner seemed very friendly. In my experience, restaurant owners tend to hide in the back...if they're even at the restaurant at all. Antica's owner makes it a point to get to know all his customers. I think more restaurants should be run like that.
Excellent wine list, best service. Average food.. Had an above average experience at Antica Posta. The layout is charming. Great service. Excellent wine list. Real Italian flavors and true expressions of the dishes came a bit short.
