Horrible service, mediocre food, unapologetic staff. THIRTEEN thumbs DOWN.. What a horrible experience. I arrived to meet my mother, sister & sister-in-law on the day before Christmas Eve which was a Tuesday this year. It was quite crowded, lots of people waiting..

The hostess finally seats us at a table downstairs at about 12:45 ...The four of us sit down & sit there for at least 15 minutes before anyone comes over to the table. FIFTEEN MINUTES. I can see that there in only one waiter & he has approximately 10 tables all by himself. All the tables seem to be eating or finishing up. Except for us. The time is now 1:07. Being in the service industry, I can see the coffeepot and I am about to get up and grab it, however my mother keeps me from doing it. Why I still do not know. This girl needs some coffee, stat. So FINALLY the waiter arrives & does he apologize for our wait? Does he tell us the specials or greet us in an way at all??? NO. He just comes over & says, "are you ready to order?"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I am absolutely FUMING. I thought the Swan house was supposed to be a nice restaurant? I snap. He takes my moms order, I inform him of my dire need for coffee, he walk away from the table to get the coffee in the middle of taking our order...seriously? Where did they find this guy? He continues to take the rest of the tables order. Our food arrives sometime later and of course one of the order's arrives with the incorrect side item. We don't want to deal with any more possible screw ups, so we don't say anything. Does he come back withing 2 minutes/2 bites to see if everything is allright, if we need anything, refills, what-not? Of course not. After finishing the meal, he comes over & this is when he starts to try and make amends for everything. Look buddy, it's a little too late for apologies. You need to take control of your table in the beginning. I understand that it was busy, but why were there not more servers on duty? Why didn't the manager who came down, saw how busy it was, why didn't she jump in & help? Do not go here. Amen

This jewel of a gallery sits in the shadow of the Atlanta History Center.. The Gallery
The late architect Caldwell Smith designed the small gallery in 1985. A curved ceiling filled with skylights, white walls and clear wood floors invite a flood of natural light into the space. Seven shows a year present the work of contemporary artists from Georgia and the southeastern United States. The gallery organizes solos for established artists and for the annual recipient of the Forward Arts Foundation's Emerging Artist Award, along with a spectrum of thematic exhibitions.

The History
The Forward Arts Foundation began with 12 women, volunteers who established the original Coach House tea room and gift shop as a way to donate funds to the High Museum of Art. In the 1980s, they formed a foundation, moved the two operations to the grounds of the Atlanta History Center and built the gallery. An important community resource, the Foundation sponsors scholarships, exhibitions and acquisitions for Atlanta arts and cultural institutions.

traditional tasties. for a visitor to the altanta history center walking around the grounds, this restuarant was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and courteous and seated a couple of tourists who arrived just before the 2:30 closing with warm southern hospitality. A basket of muffins and breads along with strawberry butter was promptly placed before us along with our chosen beverages. We had time to devour just a few of the treats when a crisp romaine salad (house) with extra chunky blue cheese dressing appeared. The main entree of salmon croquettes - light on the breading and heavy on the salmon - were presented with parsly red skinned potatoes and cole slaw. The fried green tomato sandwich was large and served with a delicious side of sweet potato fries. Overall meal was delicious and reasonable for the proportions-especially for lunch. The only disappointment was the tea which was Lipton...
