Wonderful place. Except the employees treat each other like crap, and management is horrible.
good down to earth southern food – White House takes you back to a simpler time in our history and it's a journey I like to take-- a lot. The service is incredibly friendly and the food always hits the spot. Think sweet tea, cornbread, baked chicken, etc. A great place to meet friends for a quick lunch or for a casual business meeting.
Great food. Family Friendly. – This place is great on Saturday mornings. The staff is so sweet to the kids, and their pancakes and sausage breakfast is reason alone to wake up before noon on the weekend.
Buckhead's Best Homestyle Breakfast! Excellent Gyro's/Greek Salad's! – Just made a quick run to my Dentist this morning in Buckhead, and did a quick dash into the White House. No President-Bush does not live here. This little hole-in-the-wall is just a Buckhead institution for breakfast. Where else can you get pancakes, omelette's, and homemade biscuit's made with love. The Greek family who owns this little place, is loved by everyone. And the crusty waitresses are a hoot. Not many of these Mom & Pop places left in the big city. Free copies of The Jewish Georgian can be found here. Low Prices!
Repeat Customer – I'm from north GA and each time I come into the city, I make it a point to eat at White House. I am the "out-of-towner" and am recognized each time I come in. I love the friendliness of the folks that work there. The Greek owners have a charm and appreciation that I don't find a lot. The service is consistent each time. The food is out of this world. If there for breakfast, I order grits, eggs, and bacon. SO GOOD! If they were any better I'd think I was eating at my grandmother's. Breakfast also includes a bread and a slice of honeydew. For later in the day I usually order the gyro or the burger. Both great. I've had a few other things as well that were also fine. Sunday mornings are nice as well, they'll even give you the AJC.
Buckhead insider lunch spot serves Southern favorites with a Greek accent. – The Scene
Unless you're instinctively drawn to pink laminate countertops and artificial plants, chances are you'd walk right by this unassuming shotgun dining room. Situated on the fringes of the Buckhead nightlife district, it wins big with first-name basis service and reliable diner-style food. Look for the local business crowd just before the early morning meetings and again at midday.
More than 200 items are listed on a menu that's a little bit Greek diner, a little bit Southern meat-and-three. The best bets are the lunch specials, served from a small cafeteria line. Load up with chicken parmigiana and fried calves liver, beans and franks and baked chicken. Or make a meal around anything from garlicky sauteed spinach, to earthy fresh crowder peas, to richly layered moussaka. Throw in a slice of Mexican cornbread and some sweet tea, say "yes ma'am" a lot, and you've just found a brand new local.
Cold biscuits – The omelette was tasty, the biscuits were cold, and the grits were watery (and had a hair in it). Service was decent. Ambience was sterile diner.
