Great Atmosphere. Double dates. Saw that they had hookah, so stopped by. Ordered great salad, calzones and 'knots.' All of the food was fantastic, as was the hookah. Waitress kinda sucked, but we weren't in any hurry. Sat on the patio and watched Atlanta. Surrounded by Tech students and a young, hip crowd. Loved it, and will definitely be returning soon.

Quality & Service Not The Same!. A few years back, this was the only place we would get pizza delivered from. But the last few times have been terrible. Wrong orders, missing items, cheese fallen off pizza during delivery. Atlanta has many quality choices, and this is not one.

terrible pizza. Being born and raised in NYC and lived off of pizza during most of my high school and college years I have to say this place is not worth going to. Nothing like NY pizza. Extremely small slices and costly. Go some where else.

great experience. I'm used to stopping at Ray's after a night at the bars to grab a quick slice of pizza, but the other day I sopped in to eat during the late afternoon and was extremely surprised at how great the service was. The manager talked to us for quite a while and was extremely hospitable and kind. He definitely made me want to come back again.

Disregard the Above. Skip the quaint atmosphere of "little-known gems" and get to Ray's. This is hands-down, bar-none the best pizza in Atlanta. It offers the only respite to those of us who traveled down south from New York, Philadelphia, and Boston assuming there would be good thin-crust pizza here.

Smack in the middle of Buckhead, this pizzeria moonlights as a pre-binge bar.. The Scene
On one side, a long counter is piled with pizzas sold by the slice. On the other, a well-polished, dark wooden bar beckons. Overhead, the shrill sounds of Jessica, Britney and Top-40 boy bands play. This odd combination somehow works: Treading the tightrope between cheap and chic, Ray's fills an important niche in the Buckhead nightlife scene. From mature 20-somethings to those still in school--all kinds come for inexpensive drinks, a casual sports-bar atmosphere and a prime location on the city's showiest strip.

The Food
New York-themed pizzas dominate the menu, but Ray's calzones are the best of the bunch. The huge half-moons of soft, chewy dough stuffed with pizza toppings and served with marinara are easily big enough for two. If you just gotta have pie, skip the bland cheese version and head straight for one of Ray's specialty pizzas. The Greek is great smothered in onion, feta and lush, juicy gyro meat; like the decor, it sounds strange, but it all comes together nicely. Subs and salads are also available.

Not impressed... My wife is from NY and was dying to have some Pizza last weekend. We went to Ray's. The pizza slices are SSSOOOO thin that you need about 6 to get full. I also ordered a picture of beer...WATERED DOWN. We will definitely never go here again. Buckhead is starting to be very disappointing.

An insult to the art of pizza. I must say, I can't cook to save my life, but even I could make better pizza than the mediocre fare served up at Ray's. The tomato sauce had a metallic taste, indicating its origin in a year-old aluminum can. The crust tasted store-bought, and the cheese was entirely too greasy. My advice is to skip this place; head a mile or so south on Peachtree and go to a little-known gem of a restaurant called Pasta Vino. The margherita pizza there is tops!

Pizza and People-Watching, No Parking. I suppose the name isn't entirely inaccurate, as you are likely to find pizza like this somewhere in New York, but there's very little "New York" on display here. The small front patio offers a decent glimpse of sunny Peachtree, good for lunching or sizing up the goods on display on a typical Buckhead Saturday night; this is prime gawking real estate. Inside, the dimly-lit setting is laid-back and comfortable. The calzones and pies are dependable enough, but you might want to skip the weekday lunch buffet, or at least come later in the afternoon --the pickings are slimmer the closer you arrive to 11 or even noon. Parking doesn't exist, and service is inconsistent, but that's Buckhead, right?
