What You'll Find
Gowns are made to order, so go ahead and fall in love with a platinum sleeveless sheath and then have it created for you in antique ivory with cap sleeves. You can also get a Priscilla-designed headpiece or veil, plus jewelry and shoes. For the flower girl, Priscilla designs dresses to coordinate with the wedding gown. The only essential element omitted from their line is the bridesmaids' dresses--but for your attendants they do carry dresses by Waters & Waters, Jim Hjelm and Dessey.
The Cost
A high-end salon, their prices won't make you rethink the Vegas option. Average dress price is around $2,500, but bargain shoppers or brides who can't wait the six to nine months required when ordering, should ask for items on the "take-it-today rack." It's like the last-pair rack at your favorite shoe store.

I had an amazing experience at Priscilla of Boston! I had a dress already, but I had to postpone my wedding when my father got sick. The wedding changed so much in a year that my old dress was just not the right dress anymore. The worst part was that I didn't realize it until only 6 weeks before my wedding! So I called Priscilla of Boston and asked if they had any dresses available on short notice. I made an appointment for that evening. Two of my maids and myself headed over, but there was a gas main leak and we could not get there because of traffic. We must have called 100 times to explain, but it was no problem. They were friendly and helped us find our way around the traffic. We ended up almost an hour late, which was NO problem. They were friendly and courteous and very sympathetic to my dress emergency. I picked out 7 dresses or so and had a very helpful member of the staff, Sarah, and we had so much fun! My 2 bridesmaids were tying on tiaras and having so much fun while I showed them dress after dress. I finally found THE DRESS and it was no problem getting it in. They had it at the store 1 week later. I called to see if it was in and they let come try it on that day. Priscilla of Boston is where I should have gone first. I made the mistake of going to one the mega stores where all THEY care about is the sale. I am hugely disappointed that I even had to deal with them, as they were not helpful at all after I paid. The first dress was less than great quality. If the dress is important to you, don't waste your time on the mega stores. Go to Priscilla of Boston, take your time and enjoy the experience instead of being treated like cattle! It is high quality with excellent staff. I am disappointed by the negative comments considering all the issues I had and how accommodating they were. The girls that work there are all wonderful and because of them I have the dress of my dreams!!!
Pros: Friendly and Helpful Staff, Beautiful Selection, Great Bridal Atmosphere
Cons: none

I am quite surprised by the string of negative reviews for Priscilla of Boston. I am getting married this April and found a very pleasant experience with POB in Atlanta. Yes, you do have to make an appointment to try on dresses...as you do with most bridal salons. I was assigned a wonderful consultant who has and is still providing excellent service to me and my bridesmaids, not to mention to my mother and future mother-in-law who came along for support. The alterations department has been friendly and very easy to work with. When trying on the sample size, it fit perfect. My consultant did recommend me order a size bigger because that's how I measured out, but was fine when I told her that I wanted to order the sample size as I did not expect that I would need the bigger size. My dress is in and fits absolutely perfect, even better than the sample, other than a few minor alterations. I think when you start planning your wedding, the first thing one needs to do is have realistic expectations, know your budget, etc. This way you are less prone to being disappointed. I cannot comment enough on what a wonderful experience I have had a POB. I would definitely recommend this bridal salon.
Pros: Ambience
