“My personal favorite is the Mediterranean cookie - I wish I had the recipe for that one.”
“The food is excellent.”
“Definitely a great place, but usually not worth premium prices!”
“The service is as fast as it can possibly be, but during lunch hours don't expect to be out in 2 min.”
“Good quality for the price.”
“It's a great place to grab a quick bite or satisfy your sweet tooth.”
Don't get the Macaroons. I guess I've had too many good Macaroons in Paris so I know what they are supposed to taste like. I stopped by and picked up a dozen to take to a small luncheon. They were completely stale, hard and crumbly. I was so disappointed. They had to be at least a week oldIf you are in the bakery business, shouldn't you know that macaroons need to be made fresh everyday?
NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMERS!!! CRIMINALS!!!.
Three weeks ago I ordered a special cake for my daughter's 9th birthday. I guess everyone would agree that this is a very big deal... Well, not for Henry's!
On the requested pick up date, just 3 hours before the party, surprise... Henry's was closed!!! It is just not right to make a girl cry on the day of her birthday party!!! She was hopeless!!! And I furious!!!
Most amazingly, no one ever gave me a call to say that the bakery was going to be closed on the day I requested pick up - and not even after the fact... I guess my cake is still there (if it has ever been made!). It will rotten there! I will never set my feet on that place!
Thanks God for Whole Foods! They made a beautiful - and delicious cake in 2 hours!
great thumb print cookies. come here in a pinch for a quick sandwich and cookie-try to avoid the busy lunch hour because they have to hire someone to direct traffic
Overrated and over-priced.
I'm sure Henri's was something in it's day, but quite frankly, I didn't see what all the fuss was over. The pimento cheese sandwich, I thought would be a really good homemade Southern style sandwich, which turned out to be overly dry, the equivalent of going to the grocery store and slapping the cheapest spread on two slices of bread. That certainly was not worth the price: over-priced.
The cookies were okay, but come on, I can go to the grocery store and get the same thing and not have to almost pay $1 per cookie. A bakery shouldn't have cookies that are "okay " i.e. ask Matty Cakes and you'll see a clear distinction, who is a baker that knows what he is doing.
I don't know who is nostalgic for this place, but like most of those places that you wipe a tear from your eye, this place probably has been sold to a new owner a long time ago and is basically living off it's former reputation.
Henri' Thanksgiving Dinner. The Henri?s Thanksgiving Dinner was something to be thankful for if you did not have to eat it. I was so disappointed. For the price I was expecting a nice dinner. The gravy tasted like chicken soup. Potatoes were used instead of the advertised giblets. The dressing was not even dressing; it was a corn cake with jalape?os in it. We could not eat it. The ?pumpkin pie? was soggy, and much too sweet. The Turkey was overcooked. The dressing was so bad I took it back the next day. I was told no refunds! I can certainly understand why.
Atlanta's Best. Clean and let me repeat clean! Great sandwiches...fun place to meet for lunch for a casual get together!
Great food, can be crowded, WAY overpriced. Henri's is just around the corner from my office, and I love their sandwiches, sweets, and baked goods. It's a great place to grab a quick bite or satisfy your sweet tooth. The biggest thing I object to is their prices. Small cookies for $1.05? A basic sandwich for nearly $6.00? Definitely a great place, but usually not worth premium prices! Also, beware of the lunch crown during the week, especially at high noon.
Good Po Boys and baked goods.
This place is one reason I miss living in Buckhead. The Po Boy sandwiches are very good, although they can be dry sometimes. Make sure to grab a mustard packet or horseradish i the dining area. The seating area is okay for lunch, but nothing special. I'd recommend picking up lunch and heading to a local park. The baked goods are all excellent. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean cookie - I wish I had the recipe for that one. The chocolate eclairs and macaroons are also outstanding. Their thanksgiving catering is just okay - in my opinion Fresh Market has better dressing and sides.
I hope they're around forever.
Absolutely horrible cakes. We just purchased a small sheet cake from Henri's for a celebration. It was the worst cake I have ever had. It was extremely dry (and expensive). I have never felt so ripped off at a piece of bakery. What's worse, is the embarrassment of watching people trying to eat the cake and not say how terrible it was. Never again. PS - This was not a custom made cake. It was what they had on-hand. Regardless, they should not have sold a cake so old, especially for $25.
The best bakery in town!!!!. One word.......AWESOME!!!! Everything is fantastic. I need Henri's once a week. Thank god for the gym!!! I love their black forest cake and the chocolate torte......yum!!!!!
