i've been going to drs gurin for 20+ years. it is an old-fashioned practice, they aren't fancy or high tech. but they have accurately updated my prescription over the years, are always pleasant, and contrary to the other review, always quick with getting me what i need. in fact, just this morning i called to see if they might have something in stock to fit me because my last pair of contacts went down the drain -- dr. gurin found something to hold me over and they'll get my correct Rx sent within 2 days. can't beat that for personal service.

• Pros: convenient downtown, good Rx
• Cons: not high tech

Thorough, but sloooow and unorganized

I went to Dr.Gurin's office. He was nice, but unorganized. (There was an rebate coupon offer from 2001 in his waiting room!). I was told that he would order me a trial pair of my contacts and that I would be billed for my visit. A month has gone by, and as of today, he has not returned my calls or e-mails, I have received no bill and his phone just rings and rings!!! He said that he was behind on his records, due to his office administrator having an appendectomy, but this is ridiculous!!! Try his practice if you dare }:o(
