The Scene – Atlanta's lunch-focused Fairlie-Poplar district draws crowds to Rosa's. The less-than-$5 meals certainly attract Georgia State students, bike messengers and business folk to the no-frills counter, but it's the authentic New York-style pizza that makes this place a lunchtime standard. Lines quickly wrap outside the small storefront and brisk pizza pushers keep things moving, but getting a table during lunch rush hours can be near impossible. – – The Food – Rosa's brings the secrets of genuine New York pizza to the South. Generous mounds of fresh meats,…

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Order a half ($35) or whole tray ($65) of lasagna and feed the whole family. Rosa's will deliver to places within walking distance of the restaurant.
Where to Sit:
Head to the back, where you'll find stairs to additional seating below the Healey building. Or, get your pizza to go and head a block over to Woodruff Park.
What to Drink:
Rosa's Italian ice treats offer a cool alternative to the coffee break.

  1. THE best pizza in town
  2. This is my favorite pizza in the city.
  3. Calzone's good dough and sauce on side; used to more ricotta with the nice hint of mozarella, they reverse it but still good.
  4. Any New Yorkers, Bostonion, or anyone else from the northeast who is dying for a good pizza needs to know that Atlanta does, in fact, have one good pizzaria.
  5. My co-workers LOVE Rosa's, so when I first came to work downtown, I was constantly dragged to the area to get some of the coveted pizza.
  6. It's good pizza, but it isn't great pizza.
  7. Rosa's not only delivers a superb New York style pizza, but offers great prices for what you are getting (huge cheesy goodness).
  8. Rosa's pizza is simply fantastic.
  9. The crust is harder, the toppings fresh, and the slices large.
  10. have this disabling/annoying condition- you see, I absolutely love pizza, down to the very core of me (namely, my belly), but I can only enjoy certain kinds (namely, 'good' or 'very well-made').
  11. If you like the generic non-pizza of Pizza Hut go across the street, if you want excellent pizza go here.
  12. the pizzas good but I'm a clean freak.
  13. It is above and beyond all of the rest---Words cant describe the delicious taste of the homemade sauce and dough!
  14. Alot of places in Atlanta claim to have New York pizza or great pizza.
  15. The food is great , the variety is great and the price is right.
  16. don't eat pork, but tomatoes, onions or even sun dried tomatoes all make for a pleasant pizza eating experience.
  17. Rosa's has the best pizza in atlanta hands down.
  18. Rosa's is without a doubt the best pizza in town.
  19. Rosa's is the only authentic NYC pizza.
  20. Only good if you like New York pizza.
  21. Just the best NYC pizza this side of the Mason-Dixon line!
  22. Thanks be to God that they come down I-75 everyday to make delicious food at reasonable prices for everyone downtown Atlanta.
  23. This is one of the best pizza spots in Atlanta.
  24. Never attempt to order a pizza and take back to the office, the lid stuck to the top of the pizza - the grease was like a magnet to the box top and it was OVER!
  25. If you know what makes a good pizza (thin crust, little sauce, lots of cheese and olive oil) then you get it.
  26. Just gotta say that those bad reviews come from people who wouldn't know a good pizza if it slapped them upside the head!

Mama Mia !!! It's Rosa's

by ilovemywife

1 slice of spinach, 1 slice of mushroom, and I am good to go. This is my favorite pizza in the city. I don't eat pork, but tomatoes, onions or even sun dried tomatoes all make for a pleasant pizza eating experience. Even with a crowded lunch line wrapped around the whole store and down the stairs, the ordering process is different , but finely tuned to get you in and out. Next!!! Price is cool, store is old but relatively clean. Rosa's is my spot.

  • Pros: Great pizza, quick
  • Cons: No weekends, and closes at 6pm

Going to Gsu, eating down town in between classes is hard. Growing up in Long Island. I know real pizza. There pizza is good. But, When I see an employee sneeze and not wash his hands and contunue to make pizza. Makes me want to run as fast as I can from this place.

Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing! The Best In Atlanta!

by atlcuisineguy

I've lived in NYC and Chicago, and never in a million years did I think pizza like this would be found in Atlanta. And boy was I wrong. I had to take my son down to GSU for registration and books, and we stopped into Rosa's. Just perfect. No frills, just a hole-in-the wall near Georgia State. But when we walked in, and smelled the pizza, I knew something good was coming our way. This is the real thing, with real Italian's working behind the counter. Thin crust, great maranara, and too much cheese. Just the way I like it. You do not need toppings, but the Italian Sausage is very good.

  • Pros: Authentic NYC Italian Pizza! Best In Atlanta!
