The Scene – Located on the ground floor of Peachtree Center, this attractive, modern bistro features floor-to-ceiling windows, lacquered wicker chairs and a large, horseshoe-shaped sushi bar. Though popular with the business lunch crowd, the restaurant can be nearly empty on weeknights. Service is pleasant and generally efficient. – – The Food – Superior sushi and a selection of mostly successful fusion dishes are the highlights of the pan-Asian menu. Sushi platters are an economical way to sample the wares. A temaki combo--five different hand rolls--shows the chefs'…

  1. To begin the spring rolls were pretty tasty, and the dipping sauce was delicious.
  2. The server was very knowledgeable because I don't know much about sushi.
  3. Great service; the food takes a bit but I've always been there with a large group so thats to be expected.
  4. We eat Asian food regularly and thought this would be a great place to return to.
  5. It may seem like a good deal ($25 for 3 dishes per person) but it is more of a rip off, and instead of Pacific Rim showcasing some of their best food, which should make people return, they definitely lost, and it seems as if they gave us their worst scrap
  6. The Surf & Turf was also nothing special, both the salmon and steak were really cold.
  7. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the view from the patio.
  8. most always get the sushi which is always delicious.

Good Food, Somewhat Expensive Though...

by rick0622

Just happened to be downtown looking for seafood type place and walked in.

The service was excellent and the food for the most part was good. The sushi was excellent, however some of the other dishes (calamari in particular) were not what we had in mind....

Also somewhat expensive......

  • Pros: Food was excellent as was the service
  • Cons: Somewhat Expensive

OK, not outstanding sushi

by NicoleP

Were here during DragonCon, happy to get a table (though we were stuck in a very remote/awkward corner). I had read what sounded like some interesting rolls listed on their website menu and asked for a sushi menu when we were seated but only ever got the regular dinner menu (despite seeing others seated around us eating specialty rolls...so it was not that they had been taken off the menu for Dragon*Con). Whatever, we stuck with a shared fried calamari appetizer (pretty good) and chirashi and sushi plates. Fish tasted fine, although the chirashi was heavy on cheap elements: tamago, fake crab, etc. Nothing to really make it stand out.

Overall I'd give the place an ok rating but not really destination dining.

  • Pros: location, convenience
  • Cons: price, service

I came here to eat with my boyfriend on his lunch break. The server was very knowledgeable because I don't know much about sushi. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the view from the patio. I would definitely come eat here again!

Overpriced for Lackluster Food

by lucky9

Went to Pacific Rim with a group of friends in town and we were all disappointed. First off the restaurant smelled of old fish when we walked in. Then the server treated us with no respect and ignored our table. We think it was because they include tips for parties of 6 or more and he knew he would be getting a tip no matter how he treated us. As far as the food it was very ordinary and overpriced. There are too many great restaurants in Atlanta to waste your money on Pacific Rim.

Would Not Return

by BNSupra

My boyfriend and I dined here during the 2007 Atlanta Restaurant Week. We eat Asian food regularly and thought this would be a great place to return to. This was our 2nd time dining @ Pacific Rim so I expected it to be pretty good like the previous time. However, this time was a little different. Everything we were served was horrible.

To begin the spring rolls were pretty tasty, and the dipping sauce was delicious. However, the crawfish sushi rolls were mediocre, and you could probably get better at a lower price joint like RuSans. We also had to wait a while before receiving any utensils & napkins.

For Entrees we had the Wasabi Blue Cheese Filet Medallion and Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce and the Ground Kobe Sirloin Steak. The Surf & Turf was also nothing special, both the salmon and steak were really cold. The only thing that was right was the way the steak was cooked (Med) however, the cheese on top of the steak was the worst part- upon biting my steak I just could not finish eating it because it tasted so bad. The vegetables on the dish were edible. The Ground Kobe steak was nothing more than meatloaf dipped in soy sauce. Both of us did not finish our meals. On top of that they forgot to bring out our dessert, by the time the server realized this we got stale Tempura Chocolate Crispies (Chocolate and Banana Wrapped in Spring Roll Skin, Tempura Fried and Served with Raspberry Sauce) which we thought should be superb considering all our other mishaps, yet was also equally disappointing. The only thing that tasted good on this dish was the mango and tropical fruit salad. As for the bad service, 20% gratuity is already added. It may seem like a good deal ($25 for 3 dishes per person) but it is more of a rip off, and instead of Pacific Rim showcasing some of their best food, which should make people return, they definitely lost, and it seems as if they gave us their worst scraps from the kitchen.

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, easy parking, awesome view of the city
  • Cons: Terrible food
