From chitlins to Georgia pastured meats, from gourmet burgers to Venezuelan sandwiches, the historical Sweet Auburn Market has something to please everyone. Traditional produce and meat stalls hold court with enterprising specialty food vendors. Arepa Mia, High Road Craft Ice Cream & Grindhouse are among my favorites here.

Visiting the Sweet Auburn Curb Market is an adventure. Great place to find those specialty items/ingredients you can't find at other markets. Interesting mix of patrons from all walks of life, from business types in suits to students to families out for their weekly shopping.
International and Deep South specialties mingle at this historic downtown market..
The Scene
Brimming with stalls and stands, the historic Sweet Auburn Curb Market caters to nearby intown neighborhoods as well as to the growing loft populations in Midtown and downtown. In addition to an exotic range of fresh produce, meats and cheeses, the market also stocks everything from beautiful, inexpensive fresh flowers to African clothing. A row of small cafes runs the gamut from soul food to Indian.
The Food
Everything the South is known for, but your local grocer doesn't stock, can be found here. Chitlins, salted pork and cow hooves on one counter face off with okra, greens and late-season peaches on another. Several Asian grocers, an organic produce stand and the Sweet Auburn Bread Company, famous for its sweet potato cheesecake, call the market home.
