THIS Ihop should not be open.
...I walked in, sat down, glanced at the overtly dirty coffee pot sitting on the table in front of me and informed the waitress, so she carted it off appropriately fast.
She then came back and took my order...all was bliss, until I, being the Boy Scout I once wanted to be, opened up my silverware loaded napkin in preparedness of my early morning gastronomical feast, only to find my spoon encrusted with a nice wallop of a mystery sauce from the past.
Needless to say, in total disappointment, I motioned for the waitress and simply told her I couldn't eat there. She apologized profusely as I dropped a bill on the table as I was getting to my feet, to take care of the glass of orange juice I'd ordered earlier. One thing is for certain, you and I have eaten all over the world, including a plethora of places that would be considered a dive, but for the most part exceptionally clean.
I won't be going back there, I am sure that if a health inspector walked into the place at any given time soon, you would see the apron strings of waitresses being undone hastily, along with a manager's ink pen hitting the floor as they would all then be seen hoarding for the door!
Breakfast served all day and pancakes served a variety of ways are the hallmarks of this diner-style restaurant..
In Short
The first International House of Pancakes opened in a suburb of Los Angeles in 1958 serving a menu of hearty breakfast favorites. Today the restaurant still serves its signature dishes like the original buttermilk pancakes and pigs in blankets: sausage links wrapped in hotcakes. Other breakfast items include waffles, omelets, French toast and crepes. Non-breakfast offerings include sandwiches, burgers, entree-sized salads, and dinners like T-bone steak, pot roast and herb-roasted chicken.
